in their attempt to solve the so called last mile program, the govt was completely behind the curve on bike sharing and PMEDs, and now cannot extricate from the mess without creating bigger messes.  policy making at its worst.

I sometimes wish Mr. Lee Kuan Yew is still around and in charge.

He would have the gumption to literally rip this PMD nonsense from its roots and just outright ban it overnight.

Too many innocent lives have been impacted because of the senseless riders.

Add phv debacle as well. How does phv concept gel with car lite proposal?

Lta totally out of their depth in new business strategies.

Just use fire and burn it black. ð ð ð

That's why don't let ownership commercialize. Once commercialised, we are subjected to whatever their nonsense and be their mercy of tolerating their nonsense, because they are only revenue driven.

Can you explain plainly what you mean?

Too cheem so I couldn't understand.

Phew.. Remember about 1 yr plus back.. Government nearly go into bike sharing scheme.. Heng government never go into that.. As if government make losses on bike sharing scheme = liabilities and taxpayers money.

This kind of business it is better to let private company set up and take the risk.

Then we will forever be remembered for the country that ban PMDs while other countries flourish.

PMDs are not fad and are here to stay. The society will eventually mature and the safety of PMDs will be moderated over time...

Again it's the same as the bike sharing issues

Users lack common senses and civic mindedness.

It's neither the bikes and the PMD or PHV fault.

It's the riders, riders and drivers my way mentality.

They are fads, just like skateboards and in-line skate rollers. Eventually it will grow out from the interest.

And we are remember as the nation who live in pigeon holes and paper value cars, overpriced but shrinking.

This is probably one of the few things that the govt does it right. Edited by DACH

Still not getting you.

Are you saying govt should run everything and not allow private enterprises?

Drumroll..............

And it boils down to?

Singapore as a society cannot be gracious enough for such schemes.

Not in 50yrs and i doubt in 100yrs.

Of course, some people will argue that Singapore is half made up of foreigners.

Oh well, have a peaceful day, my fellow Singaporeans and friends.
