What was supposed to be a routine match almost turned into a nightmare. Don't know whether the team was suffering from hangover from the bayern victory, but they seem to be playing really casually last night, esp after the first goal.

Nobody seems to be trying too hard now was v serious about it - looks like all got infected by VVD syndrome, in a bad way. VVD is normally very confident, and looks to be lazy. Only when really necessary, then he will turn on turbo and move with urgency. This has been shown to be calming and infectious, spreading confidence throughout the defence and the team.

But last night, so many players played so casually, but they were not getting the desired outcome, and so often were almost exposed, before their equaliser.

TAA in particular, was extremely poor, in my opinion. His crosses were crap most of the times, and his defensive side was atrocious, allowing Babbel to go past him with ease again and again. All the talk about how good he is, seem to be making him lose focus.

With the international break coming up, i hope all those not called up, should better re-double their training to get back into the right mindset, and hopefully play must better for the next 2 mth+...

I don't blame them as well as 3 points in pocket.....

Three matches within 8 days (Sun Pool vs Burnley  , Wed BM vs Pool and Sun Fulham vs Pool) ....  [sweatdrop]

All these matches, Pool came out winner ...  [smash]

The reason Salah is not scoring is because he is lazy.

When he was a teenager like 12, 13, 14 he should have just used his right foot every Tuesday.

Then he would be able to shoot with his right foot.

Now when he runs at a defender he has to stop and check onto his left side to shoot with his

left foot and the defenders all know this and when to tackle him.

:D

This is David Rocastle he won the league and FA cup with Arsenal and was an England international.

But when defenders found out he only has a right foot and no left foot he lost his place in the

England team and the Arsenal team. He ended up playing in Sabah Malaysia and defenders

found out his has no left foot and he was a failure there as well.

The 2nd half pool lost focus and kept on losing possession or gave the ball away needlessly.

That's where you need hendo to tidy things up.

We may not like his side passes but at least we are better in control.

But playing Henderson we won't score.

So let keep him on the bench. Bring him on after we scored 2 or 3 goals.

Agreed. Don't even contemplate getting Hendo in the starting line-up.

Salah is trying too hard... think he placed too much expectation on himself to shoot on sight.. a bit like Patrick Berger after he scored a couple of screamers.. then he became too trigger happy for long rangers.

Just need to play with freedom and no baggage.. then then the goals will come.  The comforting thing is that he is still getting into goal scoring opportunities and it was his shot which GK spilled and then panicked into fouling mane.

For Pool to sustain the title and UCL challenge from now to the end of the season, all front 3 needs to be on firing cylinders.  we cannot expect Mane to score every game. Firmino and Salah needs to find the scoring touches soon..

Klopp generally prefer experienced players for his first eleven over newly recruited players, and this is the case for Henderson.

On a bright clear day, Henderson is pretty good.

However he usually struggle to perform when he is back from injuries especially his foot as well as thighs and muscles.

Overall for his age, looks like old injuries will come to haunt him but but

I think he is still a very good midfielder who is trusted by Klopp & Co.

Team captain woh, so die die also has to perform otherwise..... hmmm

the season has already exceeded most of our expectations. Top of the league in march and still matching city almost stride for stride..  quarter finals in UCL [and likely semi-finals reckoning]...

if Klopp can pull off the league title come mid-may, this should still rank one of the greatest title win in EPL history..  cos City has been so dominant with its games and players at its disposal..   I would say it would be more difficult for pool to win this title even when compared to the heroics of  Leicester recently...

Leicester won mainly because they played very well that season, and was the most consistent team.

But they were helped in no small part by ALL the other traditional top teams being in wretched mode that season. Chelsea as defending champions ended in 10th place and 31 pt below Leicester, having lost 12 matches!

runners-up Arsenal was 10 pt behind Leicester, and had lost 7 matches.

City and Utd both lost 10 matches, and were 4/5th and 15 points behind Leicester.

Pool was 8th, lost 10 matches, and 21 pt behind Leicester.

Leicester lost 3 matches, and had 81 pt. It was the lowest-point winner since 2011. In some seasons, even 3rd-placed team had more points.

With the standard that City has set from last season, if can snatch the title from them, it would really be an achievement - one that far surpasses what Leicester did.

The key for run in is to score the first goal in every game. Liverpool can defend well and attackers need to get early goal. In the last 2 months, defenders are being pushed up to help get the goal which allowing opponent to get in...
Look at the CL game against Bayern Munich, we get the first goal and the game was totally in control.

Fixtures list for City is looking very cramped once the internationals are over.

Pool has played 1 EPL game more and has no further FA cup fixtures (max 2 less than City) from now on. Hence, it is likely City will play 3 more games from end March to Mid May.  Will this be a key determining factor in the title race?

furthermore, Pool also plays Porto in the UCL quarters while City plays Spurs.  So on the fixtures quantum and the difficulty in the UCL quarter finals, Pool arguably has an easier path, on paper at least.

How City can keep their legs fresh for each of the competitions and avoiding injuries to their key players will be pivotal in this run-in.  Pool also faces the same challenge however the easier fixture list will obviously help to a great extent.

Having to play more games to play aside for Man City, one other factor that works in our favour is that Man City has to faced local rivals Spurs in CL QFs. Spurs is out of EPL Title race so only thing left to fight for is CL and I reckon that they will go all out against Man City. If they can limit City to a draw in the first leg, I think they have a good chance to progress. LFC playing Porto who also has it's own league to fight for so I think the CL Draw plays a big part in deciding who the ultimate EPL winner is going to be.
