Vincent Kompany leaving Man City to become player-mgr at Anderlecht, his first club.

Smart of him to leave on a high as his powers are waning to continue another season in the EPL I feel as injuries has taken its toll on him.

He leaves Etihad as a legend for sure, I wish him success back in his native Belgiumâï¸âï¸âï¸

He should have left half a season earlier.. then no wonder goal

dont understand why so many ppl are criticizing man city

I can totally relate to pep. Anyone who played championship manager will tell you how much easier it is to win quadruple when you use the money editor. No problem signing the best players for every position.

Pep has a real life money editor and is living the dream of all CM players

Despite finishing 6th in EPL, Man United have sold 52k season tickets for next season in record time!

That's why the Red Devils are one of the richest clubs in World football despite their lack of success since Fergie left [thumbsup]

Alex Ferguson has left behind a great legacy.

I suppose it will continue to be well supported by its domestic and global fan base so long as it is not relegated.

Think the unthinkable right?

Besides having a big stadium, their earlier success meant they arrived at the party early and thus established their name, build up their fan base, sponsors etc n thus this generates revenue consistently n so barring a sustained period of failure, they should continue to attract $. Same applies to the other big boys though perhaps more so for United.

As in life, the rich gets richer and it would almost need a miracle for the smaller, less established teams to break thru.

actually man c most expensive players is 60m only.

they buy alot , but they never go and buy the best or most expensive.

pep is good with the resource available, but alot of other manager can give them the same resource , and they might not achive 1/2 of what pep won

I'm no Pep fan and frankly I didn't quite like him when he first came to EPL cos I thought he was rather arrogant when interviewed on whether he found EPL tough in which he replied "you guys underestimate Liga and Bundesliga" something along those lines. I guess he was frustrated in his first season of no success and even complained of the ball being in the air most of the times when playing lower placed teams.

Having said that, he has changed tack perhaps cos he has adjusted to the EPL and found success. He has admitted EPL's unique challenges and difficulties and whilst he is loathed to admit EPL is the toughest, he has admitted this recent season was his toughest ever in winning the League (thks to Pool for pushing them).

So in turn, I'm giving him credit for winning the first ever domestic treble and for putting out a City team that is a joy to watch and dominates opponents. Like u said, whilst it's easy to point to $ for his success, I think that's doing him a great disservice as u need more than $ to put out such a team. Of course $ helps but let's give credit when credit is due, my 2 cents.

with man u clear out and focusing on youth, i think next season wont be highest liao

Mostly in bonus payout for champion League progress.

Two Finals back to back, the payout could be substantial.

newcastle sold liao i think.

maybe we will see a top 7 soon...

The Toon Army deserves better owners as they have one of the most passionate fans in EPL. This club is a sleeping giant waiting to be awaken. Another is Leeds who unfortunately failed to make it back into the big time.

Opponents of rich owners and fans of the established clubs will loathe another sheikh coming into the scene and the usual cries of plastic money, rich man's play thing, money has to be earned etc will be directed at the Toon for sure. For me, as long as owner is sincere and sticks to the rules esp of FFP, I see no harm.

I wish the Black and White Army all the best!

Tonite 10pm sees the richest game in World club football as Aston Villa play Derby County at Wembley for the final promotion spot to the EPL and with it a potential windfall of at least £170mil awaiting the winners. This is what the winner will earn by going up whilst in contrast, for the losers; another season in the tough Championship awaits.

Villa were the losers 12 mths previously as they went down to Fulham so will it be 2nd time lucky?

Strong Chelsea connection on both sides with Lampard/Morris being Mgr/Asst Mgr at Derby and players Mount and Timori being on loan from the Blues n also Ashley Cole plays at LB whilst on the Villa side Terry is Asst Mgr whilst Abraham is the 2nd highest scoring striker in the Championship this season also on loan from Chelsea.

Bank Holiday in UK and hence the normal weekend k/o time.

Both former european cup winners. Hehe.

Villa giants 100yrs ago n quite a giant in 90s...

Derby 70s kings. Abeit for a short time.

Both with history and its gonna be a tough one to see who goes up.

My bet would be on villa though. Hee
