I really respect Everton fans. Fat Sam kept them up but they wanted him replaced by a manager playing attacking football.

The are brought up on the school of science football and won't accept park the bus football.

So different from prawn sandwich fans.

They accept any rubbish except for the knowledgeable few.

EPL is being stubborn by refusing VAR at least for another season n already in the first week, an offside goal could easily have been chalked off if there was VAR. So for those who r slow in embracing technology, hope this is a wake up call.

Jan Verthongen had a goal awarded due to goal line technology which the naked eye would not have awarded for sure. So waiting for what EPL?

Sometimes controversy makes the game more exciting and stir the human emotion to the unjust.

Some managers can use this to deflect the blame.

We all told him he was wrong and not the first time he is wrong too.

Hope he will admit to all his other mistakes too. Doubt it though.

:D

Wow: Gary Neville admits mistake with Liverpool ‘Monster’

Gary Neville doesn’t especially enjoy praising Liverpool or our players, so this admission on Virgil van Dijk is very interesting.

The former Manchester United defender turned Sky Sports pundit reckons our Dutchman’s physicality is similar to Jap Stam’s – another Netherlands centre-back of immense strength and composure.

“I thought Van Dijk was a good player at Southampton, but I didn’t think he was worth £75m, and I didn’t think he would have the impact on Liverpool’s defence that he’s had,” he told Sky Sports.

“He’s a monster, and is looking a bit like Jaap Stam. It looks like he just throws people out of the way.”

Man United seriously considering appointing a Director of Football. Van der Sar n the well respected Monchi amongst the names being considered.

https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/jose-mourinho-ed-woodwards-transfer-13079996

This DoF role is widely accepted in the continent but EPL Mgrs have long been against it. There are pros n cons obviously.

The pros are getting some stability n alignment of players coming in rather than depending on Mgrs input n then when the Mgr leaves, the incoming Mgr may not want the players he inherits n this becomes very costly for the club concerned as happened to United who has gone thru 10 tfr windows since Fergie left n after having 3 Mgrs since, they are no where near having a settled squad nor one with quality to challenge for the title.

The cons obviously are insisting Mgrs work with players the DoF purchases but yet the Mgr having to be responsible shld the team not do well. In short, Mgrs work with tools they are given but yet their head is on the chopping block shld the team stutter.

Klopp at Liverpool one of the few Mgrs who don’t mind working with a DoF. On the flip side, JM n Conte are vocal critics of this method n insist on getting in players they want n no other way.

Not sure what u guys think?

i think it depend alot on the club more then the manager.

like chelsea , their style need a DOF more then any 1 else.

every 2 years change manager, how to give every manager that come in 300m to buy his own players??

from pass man u and asn record, if their philosophy is get some 1 their style and let the manager stay long term, the last thing they want is a DOF  to interfer with the manager to imperment his style.

but modern football is changing, now every club demand instant result, it make more sense to get a DOF instead of changing players for every manager.

Think Pool fans will love this pic. 2 arch villians against each other in last night’s Super Cup match which Ath Madrid won 4-2 AET against Real Madrid with Costa scoring 2 goals n showing as always his 2 sides n just sums up what a controversial figure he is.

Absolutely brushed aside the 2 CBs Ramos n Varane to score after 50secs n then clashing with Ramos.

Wah lao... shiok lah [thumbsup]

They should stamp on each other's knees. Costa should then kick Ramos' mouth when the latter is down [lipsrsealed]
