DACH Supersonic August 11, 2018 Share August 11, 2018 If they cycle safely, I don't see why not. There's a risk. But everything you do also have risk. Please stay at home. Cuz when walking on the pavement an escooter might hit you and kill you. Or maybe you'll be permanently paralised. Why don't you ask motorcyclists to get off to the left lanes and use pedestrian crossing also? The one with flesh covering the metal or the other way round? Maybe small cars also keep left all the time and turn using the pedestrian crossings. Cuz which is more vulnerable? The trucks or the small cars? Thing is they didn't cycle safety and other driver almost collide with the last cyclist in the video. There is a risk, yes but there are traffic rules for the motorcyclists to follow to reduce the risks. Does cyclists have traffic rules to follow or even bother to follow even if they don't need to? If don't, please don't blame other road users if an accident happens because you don't bother to protect yourself on the roads from other faster moving vehicles. E-scooter should have been banned long ago, looking at how many people have suffered from the related accidents. Their existence only means more troubles to the public. No one brake or swerve. Btw, there are traffic rules for cyclists too if you didn't know. Same as motorcyclists. These cyclists were following the rules like what you want. Or you mean they should break them and turn using left lane like you suggest?
Volvobrick Supersonic August 11, 2018 Share August 11, 2018 Was driving along Bukit Merah just now - a escooter was travelling on the pavement, faster than my car (which was about 40 plus km/h as traffic was heavy). Unless LTA/TP clamps down hard and jail more of these jokers, more pedestrians will be killed or permanently maimed, or more cars or king kong lorry tyres will be damaged by their flesh.

Before Active Mobility Act, these devices were illegal. There is NO action taken then. Are you sure more action will be taken now? Using the correct lanes. You mean drivers and riders have been turning in a dangerous manner when they use the right turning lanes?

If not, they should cross the lanes like pedestrians since they are the vulnerable. https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/transport/more-cyclists-fined-over-the-years-for-offences They can be fined up to $5000 if they cycle in a rash manner. Anyway, whether there are penalties or not, cyclists are allowed on the roads and are supposed to follow the rules when cycling on the road. Which means using the correct lanes to turn. You have been acting like you are concerned about cyclists safety but keep asking them to cycle in an illegal manner. Why don't you just learn to follow the rules and look out for all road users instead of expecting road users to get out of the way just because you are incompetent?

Illegal manner or safe manner, you decide. I don't think using zebra crossings and traffic pedestrians crossings to cross is illegal. Changing to other junctions from the leftmost kerb using traffic Junction crossings is safer than just cutting lanes across fast moving vehicles, lane splitting motorbikes, bigger vehicles with poor blind spot corners, etc. At the end of the day, you are responsible for your own life and safety.
