Malaysia hockey is really good. Singapore hockey still far far away from their standard.

They are playing Japan this evening whilst the 2 former powerhouses of hockey when it was played on grass ie India n Pakistan will only fight for bronze.

Breathtaking men basketball final. China was trailing Iran more than 10 points in early quarters. Everything from guard, rebound, three pointer all gone haywired...the Iranians were physically strong and skillful. The Chinese changed to fast pace all round running tactic to tire out the opponents in the third quarter. Amazingly they gone on full fire with numerous three pointers...eventually won the bout with over 10 points. The almost like home crowd played a vital role too.

JAKARTA: Japanese swimmer Rikako Ikee became the first female athlete to be named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) at an Asian Games on Sunday after the teenager scooped an unprecedented six gold medals in the Jakarta pool.

All six golds were achieved in Games record times and her achievement was made all the more remarkable as she arrived in Jakarta immediately after the Pan Pacific championships, where she won a gold, two silvers and a bronze.

Ikee, whose gold medal haul is the most for a female athlete at a single Games, was the unanimous choice for the most valuable player award, the Olympic Council of Asia said on the final day of the multi-sport event on Sunday.

Indonesia did well hosting the Asian Games, especially given that they had less preparation time as a substitute host.

I watched the opening ceremony and I think it was fantastic. And the fireworks were just.. wow.

Their gold medalists each pocketed about almost SGD 140.000 (IDR 1.5 billion)  :yeah-im-not-drunk:

Fun fact, their oldest athlete, 78-year-old Bambang Hartono, contributed Bronze in mixed group contract bridge. He's a billionaire who, among others, owns Djarum (clove cigarette manufacturer) and Bank Central Asia (BCA) in Indonesia.

His net worth? $11.7 billion  :a-panic:
