I know this is a Singapore forum but as I live in Thailand I am wondering if it is appropriate to post about food in Thailand here. It could be Thai food, international food, my home cooking food in Thailand etc. I wish to also welcome anyone here to contribute your experience of Thai food in Singapore or anywhere. If anyone think its not appropriate do let me know.

For a start here's one of my favourite Thai food khanom-jeen, had this last week near my office

Khanom-Jeen is the white soft rice noodle in Thailand made from fermented rice so it has to be eaten fresh after its made if not will turn sour quickly and spoil. Khanom-jeen is usually take with Thai curry and most commonly with Thai green curry known as gaeng-keow-wan literally  translated word by word curry-green-sweet or for our easy understanding sweet green curry, and in this case for chicken green curry we call it gaeng-keow-wan-gai, gai as in chicken.

This is rural area so the simple and rural setup

Besides making khanon-jeen-gaeng-keow-wan in very traditional taste the seller is also very sweet and cute so my favourite stall

I will and I hope on a daily basis, I got to eat everyday right? But it will not always be Thai food only. Thailand has very good Italian, Japanese, Korean too as there are many foreigners working and living here.

Your photos, do you live here too or you took when you visited? Beautiful.

Went to wash car and then to the gym so came to office late, stopped by near office stall for brunch

Krapow-moo-saap (Thai basils with minced pork) with rice is I must say the Thai national dish. Its what we will call comfort food, cheap, easy to cook and consists of meat, vege and rice. Krapow and rice is eaten anytime of the say and can be found anywhere and everywhere. Even at home if I want a simple meal I will tell my maid to cook this for me.

with egg, meal costs 50 baht or $2 (comes with free water and tissue paper standard in Thailand)

Of course on the table will have all the standard sauces and sugar and chili powder

Avery good satisfying meal made fresh every plate

I am a Singaporean living in Thailand for the past 13 years. I'm afraid I have no idea. Isn't arapaima only found in the Amazon?

i can see the reasons why you like this noodle very much. The attraction must be in the form of the fairer sex.

Which part of Thailand are you located? Can give a bit of write up? Very interested. Thank you.

She is beautiful and cute. I’m in Bangkok. I should be posting in this thread regularly so you should be able to find lots of food stuff here if you have questions about Thailand you can also post here.

I’m just afraid the moderators here may not like me posting Thai stuff in a Singapore forum but please let me know.

Bangkok is a food paradise as all will know. Its not just for Thai food and its street food but also a range of very good international cuisine. If one is craving for Chinese cuisine as in the real stuff like Cantonese and Teochew like East Ocean and Paradise in Singapore I will highly recommend Hong Bao. There are 5 branches all located at high end malls serving mainly Thailand's upper-class Chinese.

Just finished lunch at Hong Bao's branch in Crystal Park Mall with a 2 customers

I simply love the restaurant's crunch preserved radish, ask for more

Started with crispy pork and roast duck and boiled chicken

Then its dimsum. Thais love dimsum. Just go to any 7Eleven you can find a cabinet full of different types of bao, siew-mai, har-gao etc etc but then these 7Eleven dimsum I am sure Singaporeans will not like. Then there are those specialise dimsum kiosk or stall they're better than 7Eleven but still not like ours. Hong Bao restaurant however serves dimsum very similar in taste and quality to Hong Kong dimsum that is why I always enjoy my dimsum here

I like salt baked fish a lot, especially the street stall outside Asia Hotel there. My must eat stall when in BKK.

We call it pla-pao-ger literally fish-bake-salt. Most popular fish use are pla-chon (snake head), pla-tabtim (tilapia) and pla-kapong (sea-bass). This is a great way to cook actually because the meat is protected first by the scales and then a thick layer of salt this keeps the juiciness inside and prevent over cook. Then you get the wonderful sauce, killer sauce.

Terminal 21 food court are great. Love their kway chap lpl

Anyway my fav thai delicacy should be mango sticky rice. I can eat this daily

Kway-chap here is different ya. The kway they use is the curled up type and they use crispy pork. I prefer the Singapore style but like the Thai kway. Do you know this this type of curled up kway is actually the original in the old days I’m Singapore our kway is also like this.

TS you are our Thai guide now. Post food photos with addresses so we can go there. Besides food, post any things that are interesting too like shopping, entertainment, leisure, interesting place, etc ð

Thai food is well known to be delicious and loved by everyone, one of the reasons is the Thai had perhaps perfected the balance between spiciness, sour, sweet and saltiness which made the food easy to eat and easy to go with other food and drinks.
