I don't think this is healthy at all if judge approved the damages that the RSAF pliot want to get from cabby due to cabby negligence in beating red light.

 

Imagine if Judge approved, we maybe following USA footstep where a simple fall in Mcdonald due to floor is wet and Mcdonald can get sued for few millions in dollar. Not healthy at all. So hope judge to reject the 4million in damages and injuries but maybe instead only approved say 20k due to cabby is also wrong in the 1st place by beating red light. So the cabby also need to bare some consequences.

The pilot will of course go for max claim expecting some reductions at the end.

 

But the fact is that she is still working albeit redeployed. So claiming the whole loss of income over the entire career as pilot up till retirement, is already excessive.

 

Cabby how to pay? Declare bankruptcy, end of story.

A air warfare officer is VERY different from a pilot.

The lost of income is not impossible.. if you consider post saf career add commercial pilot too.

Actually all this huge claims ...... running into milion’s in US ...... it’s paid by the Insurers right ?? .... same for Singapore also right ?? Then what is insurance for ?? maybe the Court fine him and jail him / ban for driving period is personal payment right ??

most to most premiums become sky high and cannot afford to drive

Sue cabby, but he has insurance so insurer pay.

 

Redeploy is not so simple.

Being Apache pilot likely would have taken 4 years of training.

 

Redeploy meant retraining.

The pay loss could be very different comparing one is in the air and the other on the ground or underground.

 

Sue for full loss of income and future income. Then deduct the redeployed income.

 

If happen to violinist or pianist, can't even redeploy, whole career gone.

Imo I think the judge will award her with the long term injury treatment compensation but not the lost of income as a pilot. Simply because it's not a permanant disability. In the past accident cases that involve permanant disability to the victim the judge will award millions cos victim is unable to work due to the disability. She can still fly a drone bah?

Assuming 5 figure salary and conservative 30 year career.. the claim is possible

H.mm... if a mini star say someone make him loses an election..

Insurers will make it a profitable business right? to pay that 4mil... means our premiums will go up also... no?

Most general insurers transfer part of their overall risks to re-insurers. So they might not cough out the entire sum.

 

Anyway, multi millions payout is not considered huge lah...
