What is it for? Everyday swap bumper?

This is for aesthetic purpose in most day to day driving. Some cars do have it so that the bumper could be removed easily for zhng here and there from time to time.

Dont get mixed up with the bonnet hood latch. There is quite similar thing for bonnet as well. it is to hold the  bonnet to prevent the bonnet from opening up and slamming on the wind screen at high speed or drifting.

Thanks for the info!

I had always thought they are meant to reinforce the bumper jointline from the large downforce pressing down on the front bumper in high speed tracking/races. Alot of those cars that have these usually have large air front lips/air splitters/canards.

i thought its a more burget way of fixing back your bumper when it drop.

esp those kids zing until very low, bumper keep drop,

but very costly to keep installing back properly.

so they came out with this :XD:

All older beemers should retrofit with this...since the angel light bulbs tend to fail after a short while and changing it needs to drop the front bumper. With this can easily diy with the bulb change.

yeah everytime i see this, i always think this guy can't even afford to get a mechanic to properly reattach the bumper  [laugh]

It's very obvious none of these cars are actually racing cos they are invariably cosmetically zhnged B&B cars
