The problem is, government want to control our life. This is no good as individual person should control their own life. The things they do, they will face the consequences. Government should get out of the way and not be control freak.

No choice.....people are complaining medical is too expensive in SG. They can't really reduce those prices so they have to reduce your chances of getting ill in the first place.

Why they never ask us peasants if we would have like to:

- ban/tax chewing gums

- tax/ban smoking

- ban/tax marijuana

- ban/tax gay sex

Why?!?  :D

If ban or tax imposed, does it mean it will be illegal to buy over from JB? :lll._.:

If caught, then have to pay the sugar tax and penalty fees. Usually the govt like to hit people wallet hard as a deterrent

Sugar tax will work out well both ways for State Revenue.

Essentially, they will earn because a majority of the people will likely be paying this tax for consumption of sweetened beverages as price increase may not deter them from consumption.

For those who actually do get the message and adopt a supposedly 'healthier' lifestyle and stay away from sugar, they're also doing the State a  favour as the State will see reduced spending on healthcare subsidies as a result.

No lah.... Instead of jail term, they should impose "Fat Penalty"

- every week attend RT at SAFRA.

- must pass IPPT with minimum Silver standard within 1 yr period.
