Emirates are still running their A380s into the 2030s.

So still have many years to have chances to board them.

i was stunned to read they have more than a hundred A380s...wow.

middle east so many people running to their hubs?

Geographically they are just 7 hours to most countries. So they can run this Hub model effectively.

Because it's pretty strategically located between Europe, Asia and even Africa.

Wah...just 12 years since its inception.

Destined to be a flying modern classic up in the sky, as I'm quite sure there won't be any one of similar size anytime soon.

They already earn big $$$ from all those sales .....

Germany in talks with Airbus on 600m euros of A380 loans

Berlin originally loaned Airbus 942 million euros in 2002 for the development of the A380, of which only a third has been repaid, the Funke Mediengruppe group said.

Airbus has declined to say how much money has still to be repaid in total in connection with the A380 but Reuters reported last month that it was estimated to be around 1 billion euros.

Air France axes A380, Emirates seen cutting deliveries

Quote

PARIS: The world's largest airliner, the Airbus A380, took a step closer to the aviation archives on Wednesday (May 20) as Air France said it would permanently axe its grounded fleet and sources said Emirates was in talks to reduce remaining deliveries.

Quote

Emirates no longer wants to take all eight A380s due to the pandemic and is in talks with Airbus, industry sources said.

Bloomberg earlier reported Emirates hoped to cancel five.

Passengers screaming

"We all want a direct flight!"

killed this plane.

No one wants to wait in transit and this big fat ugly fella

was designed to fly everyone to one place and make people take

connecting flights to the airport they wanted to go in the first place.

What a stupid idea.

Actually the hub & spoke idea is sound. Can practically get to any major city in the world from Sg via Emirates since SQ's network not that extensive

To me, the weakest link is Dubai airport. It's like a giant, over crowded bus interchange w poor amenities

A380 has the most stable flight through turbulence, take off and landing.

Always my 1st choice of plane when i fly.... yes don't feel much turbulence and loved it.

Gonna miss this grand dame.
