I had the honor to meet one of the heroes...he’s the relative of a friend of mine.

After that incident, he asked his ex gf to leave him as he’s prepared to give up his life in any situation just to do his job.

Truly admirable and honorable.

last heard they are still happily married...

There is a US Navy SEAL show on AXN. Whilst it's only a show, quite a few parts are realistic like how SEALs family lives and partner relationships are greatly affected by their work. Breakdown in relationships are almost inevitable and there is always fear that the SEALs will come home in a box.

I won't want to be a partner nor a child of a SEAL knowing that there is a high likelihood of not seeing your loved one anymore and each time they go out on a mission, it could be their last, this kind of pressure can do without. As for the SEALs themselves, these guys live for high octane activities and the adrenalin that comes with it. They often can't adjust to normal lifestyle in their latter years or if injuries mean they have to be posted elsewhere. They are used to living life on the edge.....

Good single man lifestyle! Once married, and kids start coming ... can say bye bye to most interesting activities, not just the high octane ones [laugh]  [bigcry]

But our man in the article, looks like he managed to transition from being action man, to also be a capable organisational leader and administrator in the latter part of his career.

Ya agreed this guy seems to be an exception on being able to move from one end of the ruler to the other seamlessly. With all due respect though, US Navy SEAL vs SAF special forces commando activities quite different but not belittling him in anyway I must add cos it is about the highest level of activity u can get in this part of the World.

I wish him success!

Its an unusal choice to make, but he's amongst many who chose the yellow robes for the rest of the journey here.

I am tempted to ask, is there no lady love worthy of him? Not being disrespectful or insensitive but i feel this needs to be a personal conviction or calling per se. Not an easy path and definitely not for most.

May he obtain what he seek and in his quest, find genuine peace and rest.

Safe ride. Pls neither be a road hog or a tailgater. Keep well.

My bad. I was sincerely unaware. Thank you, bro, for sharing.

Salute and respect for him, he went all the way, he walk the talk.

Safe ride

Cheers

Illness.

Fred did tell her he would probably become a monk after she pass away. Besides, he has thought about becoming a monk since he was young.
