I am confuse with Huawei model series.

So Pro or Mate series which is higher model?

P30 Pro and future mate30 pro?

It's just whichever one is ahead in the 6 monthly cycle. Right now it's the p30pro

I use the following formula for deriving the most desirable phone in each series:

 

Samsung:

SX+1

Note X+1

 

Huawei:

PX+1

MateX+1

 

Iphone:

Iphone X+1

 

 

*X= the currently selling model number.

In a nutshell, Mate series is better than P series (i.e. Mate 20 > P20). But there are several phone models within a series, e.g. P30 Pro > P30 > P30 Lite.

 

So if you are doing an apple-to-apple comparison, the upcoming Mate 30 Pro > P30 Pro, Mate 30 > P30, etc. BTW, Mate series usually has better (latest) processor than P series.

 

As to screen size, the difference are minimal between both Mate and P series.

Also can consider the Samsung A50 at this price range. I got the lower end A30 for my wife. Aesthethic wise, a nicer looking phone than my Pocophone. The Oled screen also alot better to look at.

Just occurred to me that Sony is still using single lens and Huawei is already on double lens for quite some years.
