tried TCM?

all these arise from the daily bad posture..

Hence, keeping upright is very important.

This is my daily regime:

Wake up, do stretching for 5 mins.

Cobra, neck rotation, shoulder stretching etc

exercising.

It helps in overall..

i guess pains and aches are signs of aging  :XD:

and i'm not the young man that i used to be..

Chiropractic helps in my case but still need long term if not lifetime maintenance as one age, bad habits in postures, active lifestyle such as some sports will put more stress on muscles, tendons, skeleton etc. All forms of exercises on PMD not counted ah.

yes stretching is important, must do it daily before bed and every morning. If you are looking at the PC for long time during the day, do stretching at some interval will help too.

some time we are too stubborn and not persistent enough.

Its like $55 per visit. I find it gives the same effect as Chiropractor but cheaper and won't pressure you to sign package.

Well initially Its painful at the neck area and feels headache and dizziness..  After I've seen the bone setter for a couple of month, the pain is gone. No more dizziness and headache. Just this sore feeling at neck & shoulder area which won't go away..

I had a sprained back and it took 3 sessions of accu + cupping at TCM to settle the issue.

Your shoulder muscles are deteriorating due to age and under usage.

Happened to my wife some years back. Yoga was her answer.

Very common problem in Singapore, some people even end up with chest and back pain (from neck and shoulder).

Stretching (lengthening) of the affected side helps the most but try to stretch both sides if you can.

1 mistake I made since my younger days is always using the same set of muscles for sports that I do. The best way is to have a variety of workouts so that different muscle groups are targeted.

For me, it's too much exercise causing injuries but for some it's too little. Now then I understand what is meant by everything in moderation (including bed exercises)

Essentially they are the same I guess, But chinese bone setters combine TCM tuina and also gives chinese medicine to help improve overall health.

If you are not like in your 20s or 30s, maybe entering 40s or in your 50s and hardly exercise, can't do a 1-min plank, or a single pull up, feel like hard to balance. It is most likely you are experiencing muscle loss like everybody else. Slowly and progressively increase exercise will surely help.

I'm 37.. I used to gym frequently.. but ever since I started having this problem a year back, I stopped lifting weights as it seems to make it worse.. Now I just do jogging..

Many advised me to swim... but I'm a bad swimmer and quite frankly never enjoyed swimming...

i can't swim well , only a couple of meters..

you can do aqua jogging, stretching, all these really helps.

building strength, endurance without damaging much.

9 years ago, I did the double cervical disc replacements at c4/c5 and c5/c6, and now I have the same quality of life I have before the surgery.

I highly recommend it. It's a 3-hour operation (less time required if you have only 1 disc to replace), but you get your whole life back. Worth it IMO. [thumbsup]

Do you do behind the neck gym exercises? If you are, should stop it. If you do chest fly on a bench, do it laying on the floor instead. Those exercises place unnecessary strain on your neck and upper body.

Or just lower the weight on the dumb bells. Since we are only exercising for fitness upkeep and better qol, we must always dump our ego at the gym door and carry appropriate weights till we are stronger before upping the weights.

I also learnt the hard way that if injured, cut off the exercise completely and rest twice the amount of time needed as compared to our younger days so that we can fully heal first. I stopped running for 2 months just because of a simple ankle sprain. My body cannot do the recovery as fast as when I was 20.

Wah how old are you? Shouldn’t u have better quality of life than before surgery? Or u meant before injury?

I have lower back issue but don’t want to operate. Some doc says the problem will come back years later even if u operate.

I am 44 this year
