Playtime Twincharged April 20, 2019 Author Share April 20, 2019 it seems videoing some people in a taxi will get your life history published in papers ... but videoing a gal in toilet is what? there is much speculation about the background of the perpetrator... and how other cases were treated very differently. like how the young student who had a police team come to school to get him over a mere allegation, he committed suicide remember.. other similar cases seem very different treatment too.
Playtime Twincharged April 20, 2019 Author Share April 20, 2019 https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/courts-crime/taiwanese-doctoral-student-jailed-2-weeks-for-taking-upskirt-video-of-woman Taiwanese doctoral student jailed 2 weeks for taking upskirt video of woman at mall The incident took place at the Jurong West Central 2 mall at 11.30pm last Nov 2.PHOTO: SCREENGRAB FROM GOOGLE MAPS PUBLISHEDFEB 28, 2018, 6:03 PM SGT FACEBOOKTWITTEREMAIL Elena Chong Court Correspondent SINGAPORE - While riding on an escalator at Jurong Point 2, a woman felt something brush against the bottom of her dress. The 28-year-old turned around and saw Chen Wei Han holding a mobile phone under her dress. She grabbed his hand and with the help of a stranger got Chen, 25, to ensure the visuals he had taken were deleted. On Wednesday (Feb 28), the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) doctoral candidate was sentenced to two weeks' jail. The incident took place at the Jurong West Central 2 mall at 11.30pm on Nov 2. The court heard that Chen had finished shopping at NTUC FairPrice when he spotted the victim who he found to be pretty. He decided to follow her so that he could take an upskirt video, said Deputy Public Prosecutor Lee Zu Zhao. While she was riding down the escalator to Level 1 of the mall, he stood behind her and placed his phone under her dress while it was in video recording mode. After the victim confronted him, Chen handed over his phone and admitted taking a video of her. He deleted it when she demanded him to do so. Shaken, the woman sought help from a 42-year-old man and asked him to ensure that any photos or videos taken by the Taiwanese were deleted. Chen refused to give his identity to the man and gave instead his NTU name card. He told the victim and the man that he would not do it again. They then allowed him to leave and the police were alerted. When Chen was interviewed by the police later, he admitted taking similar upskirt videos of five other women on different occasions in October last year to "de-stress", said DPP Lee. No photos or videos from any of the victims were found in his phone as he had deleted them. Chen could have been jailed for up to one year and/or fined for insulting the modesty of a woman. Sosaria Turbocharged April 20, 2019 Share April 20, 2019 (edited) Weird. The NUS hostel case and this Jurong point case had different outcomes. Seems that it's also a factor whether the alleged crime took place in public or private setting? https://www.scmp.com/news/asia/southeast-asia/article/3006950/singapore-student-monica-baey-lashes-out-nus-after-man-who This image has been resized.Click to view original image Singapore student Monica Baey wants firm action from NUS after man who filmed her in hostel shower goes âscot-freeâ After an investigation, police gave the male student a 12-month conditional warning and the university suspended him for a semester But the victim, Monica Baey, said the punishment was insufficient and she wants real consequences for perpetrators that commit such acts An undergraduate from Singaporeâs National University of Singapore (NUS) has taken to social media to publicise a peeping Tom incident at her hostel, asking for âreal changeâ in how authorities tackle acts that violate women. Victor68 Turbocharged April 20, 2019 Share April 20, 2019 Unless the victim wish to close case, NTU and police have n9 right to 'cover up' without explaining to the public the rationale for their decision. How do we know he will not commit the crime again and will the same treatment be given the others planning to commit such crime?

Unltd 5th Gear April 20, 2019 Share April 20, 2019 Seems like some context missing, but generally this should be considered a criminal, with evidence of the wrongdoing (video) there should be at least some prosecution. Not sure where the proceedings stopped, SPF or AGC.
