Explosions have hit three churches and three hotels in and around the Sri Lankan capital of Colombo, police said Sunday.

The blasts hit several high-end hotels and one church in the capital, while two additional churches were targeted outside Colombo, police said.

There were initial reports of at least 80 people injured in the capital.

"Eighty people have already been admitted, and more are still coming in," an official at the Colombo National Hospital told AFP on condition of anonymity.

The nature of the explosions was not immediately clear.

"A bomb attack to our church, please come and help if your family members are there," read a post in English on the Facebook page of the St Sebastian's Church at Katuwapitiya in Negombo.

Haiz. RIP and speedy recovery to those injured.

Keep our own hearts and minds at peace ya. Regardless colour, gender, religion. If u need to remember just 1 thing, i hope it will be this:

A true God do not need deaths of innocent ppl especially children and women to prove He is Great. Only cowards do this and hide their cowardice behind a godly cause.

Praises to the Almighty God of heavens and all, peace and love to all mankind!

No offence, this is goodwill to all. To fellow Christians, we live eternally cos He rose.

Safe ride. Pls be alert and keep calm.

Cheers

No mention of suicide bombers?

It's Easter. Churches will have hundreds if not thousands going in and out. Not difficult to just bring in a bag and leave it there.

Actually a non suicide bomber is scarier, technically it is more difficult to execute cos needs egress plan.

This needs more training and planning... a more advanced opponent. Not some stupid nut.

Supersonic

Bomb a peaceful religious building with plenty of devotees inside.

That's just not right.

No matter, if that building is a church, mosque, temple, synagogue. etc.
