EPL 2018/19 - Reflect, Repent & Replenishing

BPL 2018/19 coming to an end with one more game to play on Sunday, 12/05/2019.

 

The results were shocking and many teams that expected to do well but didn't. 

 

Its time to do some reflecting, repent and replenishing for some teams ......

 

Lets do some contributing to the teams who badly needs reflecting, repent and replenishing .....    

 

 

 

First Stop :-  ManUnited

 

Reflect

 

First third of the season was a shocking roller coaster rides. Ups & downs and went to the middle of the table listing. 

 

Second third of the season did better and catches up with the top 5 and in position to push for a UCL place. Was happy to see them reaching for UCL placing.

 

Last third of the season was unbelievable shocking. Sloppy passing, wasteful shooting, doesn't seem to click together. Out of a sudden, their top goalkeeper lost his golden gloves and making silly mistakes.

 

Repent  

 

3/4 of the players needs to repent and reflect on themselves. Their 18 players (inclusive of reserves players) on every match total value more then 500 million pound produce the a result of unpredictable.  

 

 

Replenishing

 

Needs a 80% replenishing of the players if they can't perform with such a high paycheque per week. Can see some of the players hearts are not here and just waiting for summer transfer window to open. No need to say who and these are the players thinking big that some big rich European Clubs coming for them.

Second :-  Liverpool

 

Reflect

 

First third of the season was a surprising fighting spirits and produce exceptional good team works among the players. Maintaining Top 3 position. Manage to pluck the leaking goals with the present of VVD & Gomes partnership.

 

Second third of the season was a roller coaster rides. Leading 7 points in Top position against ManCity in a distance second. Suddenly, draw matches with lower half teams where Pool expected to win. Giving ManCity to catch up and closed the gap. Starts to leak in goals when Gomes was injured and with combination of partnership tried out who to partner VVD.

 

Last third of the season was teeth biting and blood pressure rising situation. Only lost one match to ManCity and thereafter, countless exchanged in the Top 2 positions. Keita was introduced late in the last Third and slowly getting the taste of EPL. 

 

Repent  

 

3 or 4 of the players needs to repent and reflect on themselves. Their performance were erratic at times and not consistence throughout the season.   

 

 

Replenishing

 

Need another central back to partner VVD. And also an out-to-out striker to play the no. 9 position. Too much false 9 position and other teams able to breakdown Pool attack. That's why most teams adopt the 5 midfielders and 4 defenders to choke Pool attackers.  

 

 

A force to recon in 2019/2020 season

if pools is to fight on all front, they need more squad depth .

esp in attack area, they lack backup that can match their first team.

 

 

 

 

chelsea need a real striker.  higuain is not good enough .

 

hazard want to go then let him go, take the money first.

willam also, barc is interested and willing to pay good money  , he is 30 already, performance dropping.

 

chelsea must figure out they want kante in the team or not.

now they are playing kante cos he is 1 of the best defsive mid around, 

not because he is the best man for that position.

 

i notice alot of time already ,

like last game when kante inj and RLC take over him, chelsea game change.

 

if they die die want jorginho in that position, then let kante go .

and kovacic tolong , let him go back real.

37 game 0 goals.  other then passing the ball around with jorginho, he contribute almost nothing.

(i still dun know what happen with barkley, suddenly he is missing . inj??)

 

and for godsake give chelsea youngester some chance to play, after spending so much to breed them, u dun even give chance,

see how man c produce 2 fantastic young player this season already .

Chelsea effectively have only one MF slot available as Kante n Jorginho r regulars n the last slot is rotated with Barkley, RLC n Kovacic. RLC has come to the fore last few games hence he is now effectively first choice. Kovacic n Jorginho quite similar players n Sarri likes this type though the untrained eye in me don’t see anything special about the 2.

 

Barkley has suffered as the result of RLC form n the preference of Sarri on Jorginho/Kovacic. Don’t think he is injured as he is amongst the named subs.

 

IMO, RLC is a classy player abit like Ozil though he is physically stronger but like the German, his laid back style can be interpreted as being disinterested, lazy n also his defensive side needs improving which to be fair has improved quite abit compared to earlier in the season.

 

Barkley is more attacking n works hard like most English players but sad for him that I think Chelsea style of play doesn’t suit him as he needs to be the main man, taking on players n driving forward. Don’t think he can do this in a MF 3 n Sarriball is more about keeping the ball moving. He has thrived in the National Team though, my 2 cents

First third of the season look promising and was a leading contender for winning the EPL. Exceptional good in midfield with Hazard leading the attack. Kante, Willian & Pedro supporting upfront strikers with left-back Marcos Alonso's joining in with the run on the left. Let down was the defenders keep leaking goals. Higuaín underperform was a shocking for the amount of money paid for him.

 

Second third of the season was another roller coaster rides for a team expected to land in Top 3. Defence began to show cracks and trying to keep pace with opposition strikers. Thanks to their goalkeeper Kepa for holding up but how long can he keep it up.

 

Last third of the season were average performance from a team fill with players eyeing by PSG, Barca & RM. That's the downfall when players starts thinking of playing for 'big' clubs. Two keys defenders getting injured was the turning point which saw them dropping points and fighting to keep pace chasing the 4th UCL position with Arsenal & ManU.  The last 3 weeks of action saw them creeping up fighting for the UCL spot and they got rewarded for what they wanted. In 3rd position but still have to wait for the final game as Spurs is one point right behind their back challenging for that 3rd position.

4 of the players needs to repent and reflect on themselves. Stop thinking of 'big' Euro Clubs are coming for them in summer. Their performance were not that consistence in the second third but up the tempo during the last few week.

Look out for their young player Loftus-Cheek very promising young man ..

cahill is leaving already .

actually i am quite please with david luiz performance this season.

azpilicueta still def very well, but he is at most average going forward.

(maybe can put him go back centre)

 

this season chelsea def show alot of crack , but cannot blame the defenders also, 

def is not only 4 ppl def, its whole team.

they use to have kante shielding them, now become jorginho.....

 

as much as hazard is link to real,  i dun see any lack of effort from him, 

i even feel he is putting in extra, esp his tracking back and chasing down players.

if he is going he want to go out in a bang and give the fans some cups and result.

i dun think the fans will blame him 1 bit even if he leave.

Azpilicueta quite ok though his standard dropped abit but at least he is committed.

 

Jorginho n Kovacic just move the ball quickly but they are not creative with very little assists n they hardly score.

 

Higuian is a finisher but his physical fitness is a ? n not being a fast player doesn’t help as well. He has come to EPL abit too late in his career.

The few Man United players that hv played not too badly are Mata n Herrera but unfortunately they both will be out of contract next mth.

 

Smalling, Jones, Lindelof n perhaps Young comes across to me as willing players who gave their all but frankly they are not Man United standard players.

 

The Man United standard players like Pogba, Martial, DDG, Sanchez have been inconsistent, disinterested etc

 

So United hv big problems n they just can’t shift out so many players n start afresh as it will be a costly exercise even for a club like Man United.

 

Silver lining for them is that some of their homegrown players like McTominay, Lingaard, Rashford gives them hope that all is not lost! My 2 cents....
