Matt Damon, Christian Bale & Jon Bernthal Star in 'Ford v. Ferrari' Trailer

Retelling one of racing’s most heated rivalries.

The trailer for Ford v. Ferrari has just officially launched. Starring Christian Bale, Matt Damon, Jon Bernthal and Tracy Letts, the movie retells the heated rivalry between Ford and Ferrari, and one of the greatest victories for American automotive engineering during the 1966 24 Hours of Le Mans in France.

Enlisted by Henry Ford II (Letts), Carroll Shelby (Damon) along with a small team must come up with a car that can outpace Ferrari’s coveted race cars, racing in one of the most gruelling endurance races that has long been dominated by the French, Germans and Italians. With a powerful Ford GT40 Mk.II ready to race, the team is missing just one crucial component, and that is a driver to match this new and unproven supercar — enter Ken Miles (Bale).

This movie will tell that story of how Ford beat the odds and did what all thought was the impossible. Watch the trailer above to get a first look one of the greatest racing rivalries retold by a star-studded cast. Racing fans can expect the movie to hit theatres this coming November 15.

I was about to post this!

For those who knows the Le Mans races back in 1965 - 1970, they will find this movie fascinating.

The backstory is that Ford wanted to buy over Ferrari (the company) , but Ferrari pulled out last minute pissing off Ford. So Henry Ford II wanted a Ford race car that could beat Ferrari in the endurance races which Ferrari had been dominating for quite a long while.

The rest is history.... the Ford GT40 totally beat the crap out of Ferrari race cars in those era.

I saw the summary done by Grand Tour (James May).

Dont think the Hollywood version with big stars/celebs will make much of a difference.

To me it's a history lesson about two automotive giants flexing their ego. Ford didnt do it on one try. It took them many tries while Ferrari was winning like eating spagetti. In the end you ask yourself how much did Ford $ink just to win vs how much Ferrari $pent winning all other races. You know, for Ford is it really a win? Or is it a face saving excercise? Up til today a Ferrari car is much sought after than any Ford's.

If the producerz and directors are american and hollywood is bankrolling this..then is pretty obvious where this film is heading towards...is like asking a chinese media company to make a movie about taiwan ...
