Chicaboo.

Wanted to eat something non deep fried actually, but lunch hour can't be choosy.

I actually prefer the fish. My wife concurs.

But we got two pieces of breast in this 3 piece set so maybe that influenced it. But it's beginning to remind me of popeyes.

Texas ftw. Pretty easy decision.

aiyoh, why this Ah Aw so confusing...  [laugh]

I only know he "sold off" the 117 Commonwealth one

And re-appeared at Redhill as YAN

Then now it seems, the Redhill one is also called Eng Kee

And now got another YON YAN at West Coast.

.

.

.

.

My guess - YON YAN is original. Redhill + Commonwealth is the "new" owner

Just had the Texas chicken salted egg set. Taste nothing of salted eggs but the chicken is damn good. Crispy on the outside and tender on the in.

Oh, they have salted egged season.. OK, going to try..

Can tty this coffee shop at hougang ave 5, blk 327. The fired chicken is crispy and juicy but be prepared to queue up, they are quite slow, and the coffee shop has limited options if you dont eat from that stall.

if you guys like those corona style chicken rice , can go try the Da Ji Hainanese Chicken Rice stall @ 75 , lor 5 Toa Payoh .

They only starts selling at 5 plus 6 pm hor . One of the better fried chicken wings rice these days . As there is always a queue ,  the wings are always served piping hot , straight from the fryer ...

Cheap and good ....

Just tried today. The wings were quite nice but for me not worth to queue for 20min for. I asked the old aunty next time can cut queue go infront if just buy wings only or not. She replied no as no fair to the customers queuing. I did not think it worthwhile to explain to her that the reason for the queue had been because her husband served very slowly taking about 5min per customer, if my favourite chicken rice hawker is to takeover his job, the queuing time could easily be shaved off by at least 50% from now. But I understand they now not in hurry to earn money, so suck thumb if want to buy from them lor. Another thing I observed is that there seems to have a consensus among the hawkers there if selling chicken wings, all charging $1.40 each regardless of bbq or fired and what not.

Personally I find the wings sold in Old Chang Kee the best if the wings were just cooked and still piping hot. Best is only need to queue for less than 5min, if need to at all. But cannot always so zune, so sometimes will get those dry up cold wings instead. So every week trying my luck as I pump petrol only once a week the most haha.

Just came to my mind another 2 places - Commonwealth (should be eng kee) Beehoon fried chix wing n hougang (should be ave 3 Blk 1 to 3) 2$ vege rice fried chix wing iirc.

Recently also tried KFC cereal chix. Seemed like the chix used is somewhat better quality than the regular offerings, or maybe I haven't eaten for a while
