Kklim Supercharged July 8, 2019 Share July 8, 2019 According to one of the hawkers nearby, the fire started from the corner shop selling household items. Those everything-also-have shop. Paint, thinner, turpentine, glue .... Plus cloth (towels, etc) and lotsa of plastic.
Atrecord Supersonic July 8, 2019 Share July 8, 2019 At least this fire broke out at a location where there is open space for people to run. I have seen places which are narrow like anything, stall owners still allowed to place goods outside of their store, within some yellow box, to sell. Which is still not so bad if the shopkeeper really stick to within the boundary, but just need one to hack care and every other business will also ignore the boundaries and just place their goods out any old how. The place where i go to for lunch frequently, got a sheltered path by the side of the block (which is carpark upstairs and with coffeeshop and a Prime supermarket downstairs), for people to walk. The sheltered path has on a regular - if not permanent - basis, at least half to two-third of its width taken up by goods belonging to Prime. When it rains, people walking past will get wet easily... Fire got (big) problem, rain also got problem. The authorities just doesn't do anything about it...
Tkseah Supercharged July 8, 2019 Author Share July 8, 2019 Hmm.. Will the other units burnt be able to claim damages from the household item shop since the fire started from there?

If we are building covered walkway for shops to place their merchandise then it is better to build additional enclosures for them. It is a joke authorities even marked yellow boxes to collect more rent? ↡ Advertisement
