Will this project cause a strain on the economy

Thinking aloud.

Could this be Indian govt showing displeasure at the ceca agreement?

Specifically they have complained that Singapore did not allow even more ceca to come here.

They can simply replace the entire workforce in SG yet still have people unemployed in India.

Seriously they should work on their domestic employment rather than exporting their "talents" offshore

You may want to retink that...

@hydrocarbon

Click bait would be this

https://www.theonlinecitizen.com/2019/08/14/modis-govt-withdraws-request-to-world-bank-to-support-temasek-led-amaravati-capital-project/

Modi’s govt withdraws request to World Bank to support Temasek-led Amaravati capital project

But as there is no report from india on the collaboration it could be misleading...

Thanks for the 5 dislike

The title of this thread is clickbait-ish, that's why I gave you the 1 dislike point. My name was there when I awarded the dislike, I put it twice, once when I clicked it on the button, and another in the message itself.

Examples of clickbait titles:

- 5 simple ways people have gotten rich, and you wouldn't believe #4!

- Doing this simple thing will help you lose weight fast!

- Will this project cause a strain on the economy

You see, the title of your thread is clickbait-ish, and that's why I awarded the dislike point. It's just 1 point, if you see correctly. Points also cannot eat or exchange for petrol voucher. It's just a way to upvote or downvote certain posts, at least in this forum.

As to why the title can be considered clickbait:

1. Words like "this", "that" incite a feeling of curiousity

2. MCF is a local forum, and as such, reference to "the economy" would imply our local economy. However, the news is of India.

3. Emotional words like "cause a strain", in conjunction with #2, would imply that it may be a local issue.

Thus, I would consider your title a clickbait title, and have given you 1 dislike point.

India is like China in the sense that they export "talent". There's simply not enough jobs domestically that pays to their expectations vis-a-vis qualifications. So they make use of the exchange rate to at least earn the sort of income they expect in their home currencies.

But while PRCs have the advantage that they are willing to enter all kinds of industries at all levels, I don't see many Indian nationals doing the same.

You'll see PRC dishwashers, food court employees, spa workers, all the way to professional employees. But not the same for Indian nationals. Even the restaurants in little india, I have seen PRC helpers.

India has 48 holidays out of a total of 19 gazetted ones

Singapore has 14. That sort of explains the number of reason why India is cheaper in terms of salary and is a great expats destination for tour of duty before they get the next promotion rather than be place in HK because how do you even have proper work for 48 days in a year out of 365 days ?

So on average should be about 30 to 35 days of holidays ?

And here we KPKB about our guys going for reservist and asking ourselves how to entrust people who needs to be on the ground yet away from the office

Not a surprise as there are many religions recognised in India thus all the holidays must be equal status.

As for in this region where we have multiple ethnic and religions, thankfully communities are mature enough to compromise and to accept that only major major festivities or occasions are granted public holidays.
