Hi bros, do you guys drive barefooted or with shoes on? or maybe even slippers? hahahahahašŸ¤£

What are your thoughts on this? Which is better?

I personally drive barefooted as I feel safer without shoes. I feel that i can control how muchĀ pressure i apply on brakes and accelerator better with my feet. Another reason why I do not like to wear shoes to drive is because my shoes always get stuck and I could not take out my legs (maybe cause i have big feetšŸ‘£). Most people says that it is dangerous to drive barefooted so what do you guys think?

Shoes or at least slippers are a definite must for me.Ā

If car crash where glass shatters or petrol spills, high chance you will cut up your feet and hurt yourself further.Ā

I'm also not an f1 driver on the roads, so brake "feel" doesn't outweigh the safety aspect.Ā  Even F1 drivers always where specialist shoes for safety.Ā

But to each their own.Ā

Turbocharged

Those who drive with footwear, you try to drive barefooted overĀ a tankful of petrol, you will find that you get better fuel efficiency, because you can feel the pedal better, you don't step so hard on the accelerator.

Since I gotten license in 2003 until now, I have never manage to master driving with Slippers, let alone bare feet.

I got a frightening experience: as I switched from accelerator to brake pedal, my slipper slipped off. Panick for a moment sia.. Heng never lang gar the front car..Ā Ā

Ever since then, I have only a pair of slippers in my house, only wear it when I don't require to drive. Hahaha..Ā

For daily commutes, I wear my office shoes. They're not ideal for driving.Ā

I much prefer driving barefoot to wearing office shoes. When I had my tiny Alfa, I couldn't heel toe with office shoes on as my right knee would knock on the wheel. Removing my shoes gave me just enough clearance to drive comfortably.Ā

For running errands I wear flip flops , and it's hazardous to drive with those, so I drive barefoot.Ā

On Malaysia and track drives, and when test driving cars, I wear my racing shoes with thin soles. Those are the best for driving.

Im a new driver so i only drove less than 20 times.Ā

At the start i drove with shoes and then i changed to barefoot as i feel more comfortable barefooted. Dont get me wrong im not encouraging people to drive barefoot hahahah just personal preference.

everybody got different style of driving. I too drove with shoes (when going to work), slippers (normal days except to work) and barefoot (long Malaysia driving holiday).

Choose whatever is comfortable for yourself as there is no right or wrong, except maybe high heels!

With shoes on. I don't feel comfortable barefoot. For some reason, I feel safer driving my shoes on. And my feet always get cold easily. Not sure if it's a medical condition or I'm just used to it.

I feel its ok to drive barefooted if you are more comfy, but make sure your shoes aren't sliding around in the footwell and end up under the pedals.Ā

Thin soled shoes may be more preferable for safety reasons as mentioned earlier. When I race, I wear a pair of fire-proof thin soled shoes, but then, thats mandatory in FIA sanctioned races.
