Is it possible to do a DIY EFI for carburettor car?

As per subject above.

 

Any diagrams or raw materials needed. Any info on the web on such matters. Unfortunately my search turned up zilch because the list diy-efi closed shop due to some HDD crash. I sort of know it is legal. You are improving the emission rating of the car and not making a smoker.

what is the difference?, Once you modified it, it is illegal...so might as well just put in the EFI version....
