We have been using this Tron prepaid (carried over from Genting Mobile). Now there is a Tron app for reload/topup, as well as subscribe/unsubscribe the data plan.

In the past, we had to remember to unsubscribe the data plan before crossing home. Otherwise, the data plan charges will continue to use up the account balance.

Actually got to know about this recently also.

Very fast, package arrive within days.

Signal seems okay when I was in Bukit Indah last week.

Going Malacca next week. Think would be okay too.

Malacca network should be ok, because we used the Tron in Genting Highlands and Penang as well.

Tron is riding on Digi network, which is one of Malaysia telcos.

Good is good.

But without data connection, the Google Map cannot give spoken instructions. [laugh]

While Waze is very good.  Google Maps is better as there is an offline map feature which allow U to download the whole or part of MAL lor.

You can get routing guide without the need for 3/4G Data lor .....

Many part of NSH actually do not have 3G service lor....??

I remember the half develpoed site was left abandon for like maybe 10 years before turning into what it is now.

was told by an electrical shop assistant that the newly opened mall was the famous Kemayan City (abandoned) mall that was supposedly haunted! Dont know whether all those ghostly stories true or not.

Maxis and Google Map took me from SG to Pengkalan Hulu in my last trip, mostly no problem. When crossing Titiwangsa mountains from Perak to Kelantan, there's intermittently no 3G/4G.

Once in Thailand, I switch to Garmin and Google offline maps but Google not as updated in Thai villages.

Sometimes Waze don't come back after it lost signal and have to restart.

Also experienced before that didn't work even.

I will usually run both Google and Waze at the same time, just in case kenna tua to Holland

I just got back from KL a couple of weeks ago, WAZE on the way. I used Starhub's Travel Data, $15 for 2G and valid for 1 month and it automatically switch networks, so I get at least 3G on NSHW.

WAZE is a must have for Malaysia highway runs, I "see" Police before they even smell me. Wahahaha...

Will the 2gb data used up to kl? Did waze eat alot data?

Then about polis notification, they will beep to notify u?

Navigation use very little data. Especially if you use google maps and download all the offline maps first using wifi before setting off.

Very little data consumption actually. I still have 1.7G after 3 days in KL plus the traveling up and down.

For WAZE, you can set with or without notification. They alerted me 3x during the trip. Not saying I am speeding hor....

I think it's because you're not in driving more. If in walking or public transport mode it only chimes.

Google will still work with offline maps without data. Waze just give wife or passenger play, and watch out for speed traps.

Oh if got speed trap no notification? Then its hard cos when i drive everyone sleeps lol

I used google in oz and in one day consumed 300mb sia

If download offline depend on area coverage and every month must update somemore no live traffic

Some are fake one.. added by users.

Still ok as long as real one got noti lol

I am currently using M1 prepaid for use in MAL lor, $10 1GB per month.

I oni opt for data plan when i go up north.

i've tried Hotlink b4 switching to onexox. (cheaper according to my usage style)

Not really sure how much i bought Hotlink card for alr, since it was quite awhile ago (around rm10?) and i buy data every time i head north topup rm5 to buy data every trip and also to refresh e validity of e card. i always buy 'rm3 for 1G per day'.

But now i use onexox card, bought in sg thru their reseller. S$20 per card and i opt for e 10G data plan and 28mth validity. The 10G data is 'stored value' and i withdraw 500Mbyte/mth (e lowest amount of data to withdraw). Enough for my data needs...abit of surfing / watsapp / waze etc, can last me 2-3 'day trips' in jb per mth.

Offline Google u need to download the map area beforehand.

Select the area then download.

Didn't really try that though, since I've got my prepaid already

I have confirmed with the shop last Friday.

Hotlink cost RM$20 for the 1st time, come with 2GB for 1 week usage,

Subsequent top up of 2GB  at RM$5 for 1 day usage or 2GB at RM$10 for 1 week usage.
