December = durian season

if keen, just a short drive away. Bentong and Raub are the two main durian centers in that vicinity.

December = durian season?

now, this is interesting.

I always thought durian season is in June, the hottest time of the year..

plus I have never visit a durian farm before..

Yes, please share more about bentong and raub. [thumbsup]

this is the first time I'm staying in that area, hence wanna plan my trip well.

you are being humble.

Maybe we could plan a road trip in future, It will be fun :D

yeah, thanks for directing.

however, I guess its not very relevant as my staycation is pretty fixed, I can only travel within bukit tinggi/genting area.

My wife's cousin are proposing pangkor but I guess it will be tiring and kinda packed.

After all, its Xmas period.

for Msia, generally 2 seasons a year, mid-year and end-year, but the 3 main areas (Pahang, johor, penang) have some variation, also depending on the weather (temperature, rain)

if durians are in season, u should see a few pop up stores as u travel on Karak highway from Genting Sempah/Bukit Tinggi towards Karak.

Not all orchards/farms accept walk-in visitors, as they sell to distributors/resellers. But it's fun driving around that area.

you may also like to chk out the waterfall near Bentong. Nice carpark and a decent-sized area to roam around, but do note the restricted (danger zone) area near the waterfall. Not much F&B options there, from what I recall. Maybe BYO picnic.

thank you for sharing.

You have made the trip more interesting.

I have actually went to the facebook link and seems they are closed for the year.

I will try to see if my gps read karak highway, its an old garmin gps.

My wife told me the place that we will be staying, is like a farm stay.

Her uncle purchased the land and use it as a staycation, some fruits trees etc..

may have durians, provided it's in the season.

I suppose the 2 links that you have provided, are referring to the same waterfall?

I love waterfall, an art of nature, minus the rubbish that incumbents may have left.

It's gonna be fun.

u r most welcome

best to call/WhatsApp the farm a few days in advance before the intended visit.

do u have the name of the place u will stay at? open to public?

two links - yes, same place. They provide different info for the same place.

have a good trip. It's rainy season so the waterfalls should be more lively. I was there in dry season.

thanks for the well wishes, until now, I still don't have a formal address of the exact location.

to be frank, I also don't know how to go..

my in law can only tell me blentong if I got it correctly..

going out with them, is a pain at times.

lucky, my wife share the same sentiments with me.. Malaysians unlike Singaporean, they don't go by postal code and older generation, they don't even know the address..

I foresee, the worst scenario is that I be heading genting straight, then call my in law to pick us..

I heard that Bukit tinggi is a very nice place for photo taking.

Here some of the bloggers' review:
