My XC90 is at 85k and SM motors is suggesting me to change my timing belt at 90k now instead of the 120k. Cost abt 1.8k. 1k for timing belt and 800 for the 90k servicing checks. I am hoping to find an outside workshop to do the job.

did you find an outside workshop to do you timing belt? I have a 120k servicing due. Some have said for the 120k, SM changes the timing belt, and for $1,800, there's not much difference between SM and outside.

 

If you have an update, please post on what you decided and why.

Any idea how much it would cost to repair sideview mirror and its motor? I was quoted 200 plus for the mirror itself and 1000plus for the motor. Does this seem reasonable?

Did the device fail or was it damaged?

Maybe the scrap dealer can help with parts, depending on what you need.

I do my regular servicing for my Volvo at Gary's Engineering.

They are located at Blk 53 Paya Ubi Industrial Park, #01-42 look for Gary.

They have all the Volvo equipment and their service is quite good.

Do they have the diagnostic tool to reset the service reminder and ATF interval change reminder?

Just got myself a 07 s40 2.4 with mileage are 77 k. Does Volvo cars also serviced at 10 k interval? Cos the previous owner did his last servicing at 75 k with changes to transmission fluid and brake pads, sounds like a major servicing.

 

Also appreciate if there is any outside workshop to recommend to service Volvo....tks!

Wearnes service interval for Volvo is either 1 year or 15000km

Any aftermarket EOBD code reset tool with OBD2 support and CAN capability will do the work.
