HI there,

I used to own one... bought a 2nd hand (mileage abt. 15K) and sold off as 2nd hand (abt. 45K travelled)... IMHO, if mileage low, can consider if price is attractive... else, go for a 1st hand... I encounter big prob. when mileage reaches abt. 45K-50K....

I face problems lke fan not spinning (not air-con not cold), failing LTA inspection due to exhaust., and worst, spare parts & servicing will knife.gif.. not many outside workshops have confidence in dealing with it...

but power is thumbsup.gif....

New Diesel cars, vans and trucks from Europe are all equipped with common rail system and all injection controls are just like petrol engines. They have to meet the euro diesel standards which is much much higher in black particles counts than the Japanese exsiting stanadards.

For diesel vehicles, one must faithfully follow the service schudule and also got to have the right fuel injection shop to do pump and injection setting and calibrations. If you are unable to meet these requirements the chance of TP stopping you for emiiting black smoke is very likely.

The sad thing about commom rail diesel system is that you hardly can find a local fuel injction shop that is equipped with the lastest computeristed control fuel test bench to calibrate such pumps and injectors. Most of the problems are overcomed by replacmenting the whole units. The faulty or malfucntioning pumps are send back to factory for rebuilting and calibations.

Japan is trying to play catch up with europe on diesel standards. Many diesel vans and trucks less than two years are now being scraped/exported and replaced with units that meet the europe 4 std.

Besides the MB choices, you can also try out the Opel Vivaro, Renault Trafic, VW Transporter.

I wanna convert my side panel doors to windscreens, but no stock at windscreen specialists.
