hi all,

always can feel the doors vibrate when i tune up the ice and also up the bass level, does it imply i need to soundproof the doors ?

is it due to the doors being too empty hence too much gaps for the air to vibrate ?

it's just a long strip of rubber tube. you take a look at yr car door. i think u should see a rubber tube that runs along yr door?

it look something like that. the rubber tube that i bought is hollow. and it comes with 3M tape.

you have peel off the 3M tape and slowly stick the tube onto the door frame. and just run along the whole door frame, including the bottom. one packet is just nice for one door frame. costs about $18 per packet.

i think you need to cut the tube when it comes to the door hinge portion, coz the hinge will be in the way, also the door lock portion will be in the way.

i no professional in doing this. it's my first time. so i just stick and run the tube whatever i feel it's right.........

if you want professional ppl to do, it will cost $50 per door (tube + labour). i asked before. that's why i decided to DIY. the labour is bloody expensive! i thought to myself, 'How difficult can it be?!'...........

so far, i only did front 2 doors. no vibrations from speakers, lesser road noise. it works!

the $18 per packet is made in USA. i found out there are cheaper ones also.... made in taiwan and the adhesive tape is not 3M. i think cost only $13 per packet.

what the heck, i got the $18 coz i think it should be better. the professional ppl that charged $50 per door is using the USA-made packet. so there must be a reason why they are using the USA-made, and not the cheapo one. maybe the 3M tape will stick much better and wont drop off? i dunno......

i bought it from Autoacc at payer lebar road. and i saw it at the car accessories shop opposite the Ubi Mega car dealer building.
