Car Mats - What are the 3M Car Mat options other than Berber, and other brand options?

What is the big deal with 3M Berber custom cut car mats? They look like industrial grade door mats to my eyes...

So, are there other 3M car mat fabrics available? Is there any other 'premium' branded custom car floor mat type I should be asking for?

The regular soft pile mats in my MPV are taking a beating, and likely will not stand up to a good wash or vacuum, I think.

Any help or input greatly appreciated!

Bro, not just MPV. Any car that ferries kids around will take a hell of a beating from all manner of abuse! I just found out my little girl made scratches on my window film from some sharp object. bigcry.gif

One way is to strap kids down be it MPV or not. They only dirty the child seat/restraint. Have an underlay for the restraint to collect food bits. But I must warn you, washing the child seat/restraint is more a chore than vac'ing the car interior.

As for mats, I would suggest any with washable material and can be quickly blown dry with a compress air gun. The Packy Poda brand of plastic mats looks ideal. Used them before. Pretty good. Black is the best color for it. Lighter colored mats, grey or otherwise can be stained easily by marking soles.

3M mats are designed to be like a bushy 3D maze that can trap dirt and dust, which is better in the mat than in your car.

You can take mat out and clean vs vacuuming your car in those hard to reach areas.

Try cheaper alternative like similar 'no brand' bushy mats from Autobac. Selling for around $20 per pack, but you have to cut your own.

Just take original mat out, then trace and cut. Much cheaper than $150 for whole 3M set.

I would suggest matching color to your car interior, black although practical may look out of place in a biege interior.

Genie, Kax,

Thank you, thank you. Very useful to get some outside thoughts! I will check out Autobacs first-the 3M mats cost as much as an original replacement set from the dealer.
