Massively heavy with a small engine to boot for that kinda weight (over 2 tons). Truck based chassis. Not a good buy at all unless you want constant FC of 6-7km per litre

Very badly designed. Too heavy. Cars shouldn't be so heavy. What more with such a small engine. Its an environmental disaster in terms of fuel consumption. Sorry man but its just my opinion sweatdrop.gif

Toyota is just using a truck chassis, to make money out of people...by clothing it with 7 seats and more insulation

well... ppl here are paying good money for Vios on an Echo platform... but this fortuner thing takes the cake...

toyota may lose out dearly if this IMV project fails...

but then again, everyone else is going the same way...

as long as it is a toyota, it sells like hotcakes in sg and msia.

so no problem even if they dish out junk, u think the toyota buyer sophisicated enough to differentiate?

given enough rubbish products, and enough time... they'll flock elsewhere...

hehe......key is "enough"

to me, sg car buyers just take too long to find out. remember in 2000, the sunny still outsold the corolla, despite corolla having a better overall performance, higher omv, greater reputation worldwide and a negligible difference in sellling price. it took quite a while before sg consumers realise that corolla was giving better value then.

for the fortuner case, i think the sales will be good..until when some finally realise fortuner cannot make it, another good toyota model introduced would have erased this bad memory and make them support toyota yet again.

for the toyota to lose its no. 1 mantle in sg, something more disastrous must happen.

Not too bad fr the price range

Overall handling is ultimately a Toyota, very simple and if you have driven one Toyota, you've driven most of them. Power is fairly distributed, but don't expect to break the ton anytime soon. Brakes could be improved though
