Seems like going to lose votes from pioneer generation.
Sony Xperia XZ4 will presumably debut at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona next month.
The technology exhibition will run from February 25 to 28 and is expected to also play host to a number of other high-profile product announcements.
Xperia XZ4 is the assumed name for the Xperia XZ3's successor.
The device is expected to be powered by Qualcomm's latest and greatest Snapdragon 855 processor, tout at least 6GB of RAM and come with Android 9 Pie pre-installed.
Rumours have also pointed towards the handset coming with a 3,900mAh battery that could deliver all-day life for Sony fans.
However, the biggest alteration between the device and its predecessors may come from its tall display.
Alleged screen protectors of the hardware have leaked online and suggest the Xperia XZ4 could flaunt a panel with an aspect ratio of 21:9.
Moreover, notable leaker Ice Universe recently took to Twitter in an effort to showcase how the product may stack up to its biggest rivals.
The claimed screen protector for the XZ4 was put next to Apple's iPhone Xs Max.
The tipster noted the handset's screen is "similar" in length to the entirety of the American tech behemoth's most premium offering.
He said: "I received the tempered film of the Sony Xperia XZ4. This phone is too long.
"After measuring, the length of the XZ4 screen is 15.2cm, which is similar to the length of the iPhone Xs Max."
The claimed screen protector suggests the XZ4 will not boast a notch.
Instead, the hardware could flaunt thin bezels on both its top and bottom, similar to the Galaxy Note 9.
In previous years, Sony has launched other handsets alongside its flagship products.
In particular, the firm was commended for releasing "Compact" versions of its devices that were smaller overall and easier to use with one hand.
However, the Xperia XZ3 did not receive a Compact iteration and it appears the XZ4 will not either, Sony Mobile's vice president of Marketing has hinted.
In an interview with Digital Trends, Don Mesa explained the Japanese OEM believes people want "a lot more surface area for their content now", suggesting the firm may not deliver another Compact device.
He said: “We stuck with Compact for a very long time, because of the ease of use.
“There’s always room for different sizes, but people want a lot more surface area for their content now.”
The comments from Mr Mesa suggests Sony believes consumers want hardware with larger displays and a greater screen-to-body ratio, meaning minimal bezels are present if at all.
That means users that enjoy the form factor of the firm's Compact devices may be disappointed this year.
Mesa also confirmed Sony will be "announcing products" at MWC this year, meaning fans surely have exciting announcements to look forward to.
One of the firm's headline devices shown is expected to the be Xperia XZ4.
