Originally, start-stop technology was used on hybrid vehicles to enhance their fuel efficiency when they come to a halt. The technology is now spilling over to traditional vehicles to help them save fuel. Ford will offer start/start technology as an option on the 1.6 litre EcoBoost version of the 2013 Fusion (Mondeo in Europe).
