I'm sure everyone here knows the Volkswagen portfolio. They own 12 principle automakers and their respective corresponding marques.

Some of the famed automakers they own include, Audi, Lamborghini, Bentley, Bugatti, Skoda, Seat and more recently Porsche and Ducati. They also have around 20 percent stake in Suzuki on top of partial ownership of other brands.

Thanks to the large Volkswagen family, resources within companies can be shared for low production costs and faster manufacturing processes - like for example the versatile MQB platform that underpins numerous models from Skoda, Audi and VW.

But has resources sharing led to some companies within the VW umbrella to lose its identity?

Chris Harris from the Drive network, has an Audi S4 and a Bentley GT Speed on hand and realises something odd. Despite the vast difference in pricing, they actually feel the same. Even the interior layout and buttons on both the cars are pretty similar - though the Bentley has an uber luxurious feel to anything.

An Audi S4 that handles like a Bentley might be a good thing, but an avantgarde piece of engineering like the Bentley that has similarities to a normal luxury saloon, can't be a good thing right?

What do you guys think, do you agree with Chris, has Bentley lost its signature touch?

I’d liken the Motor Show to the Card Show, since both only come about once or twice a year, both are ticketed events, and both are more likely to find better deals and way more options. I’ve been to both major card
