Peterlee Neutral Newbie January 10, 2003 Share January 10, 2003 Hi recently had my first accident in my Fabia. Some lorry bang my car's backside at AMK5 toward CTE slip road. Had to replace the hatchback & bumper... Mine is NTUC insurance but will be claiming against the other party. NTUC call me today to say I must send to their workshop but I told them I was not informed. Both the IDEC (?) & the NTUC hotline never say must goto a NTUC workshop..Hope I don't get into trouble. BTW, what must I look out for when collecting the car? Accident happen only yesterday @ 9/1/03. PPS: Anybody can recommend me a good remote alarm...been wanting to install one and the workshop quoted me S$130...if do with the hatchback will be S$180. Not decided yet. ↡ Advertisement
Sky8807 1st Gear January 10, 2003 Share January 10, 2003 My experience, sent your car to any idac centre, accident report can be done there. ntuc insurance report form are also available there. I did my report at Bk Batok Viacom idac centre. After filling in report, they will take care of the rest. Sent your car there and after repair collect back at the same place or you can arrange to collect back at the assigned workshop. Their policy is change anything that are damage or defective. NTUC requirement is to sent your car for idac assessment before repair.
Octyman Neutral Newbie January 11, 2003 Share January 11, 2003 Don't they put your car's repair job up for bidding? Was told that they practice this and award the job to the lowest bidder.
Peterlee Neutral Newbie January 11, 2003 Author Share January 11, 2003 Already send to IDAC but only problem IDAC did not say I must give to a NTUC workshop. BTW, found out the price of some of the parts...the bumper cost region of 200-300 while the hatchback isS$1000+. I also have a missing fog light cover in the front but was told it's only S$10. Sky8807 1st Gear January 11, 2003 Share January 11, 2003 No worries. They will assigned a quality workshop to do the repair. In my case, if I were to repair outside on my own cost me $180. Knocking and spray job. But to my surprise, the repair by CAS, wow everything not right change. My estimate shd be around >$1000
