Myfocus Neutral Newbie January 4, 2002 Author Share January 4, 2002 Of course I can tell, my car got video camera :-) Actually, I've used NGK, Champion, Autolite and Lodge. AT low speeds/city driving, no difference. Only difference was the Lodge at hgh speed. Felt more responsive, but only if you knew it was there. Eventually used NGK becoz it was cheap ($1.50 each) and Lodge (long life, surface discharge type, put almost 50K klicks before it needed changing). Tried Cheetah 911, Cyclone (borrowed, never paid), no discernible difference in pickup and economy. Dun bother nowadays (getting old!).
Turbobrick Neutral Newbie January 4, 2002 Share January 4, 2002 I tried Bosch platinums, Bosch copper, Denso ZUs and NGK coppers. They more or less felt the same, I guess it's all in the mind or higher rpms My OEM plugs are still the best! Platinum tipped copper core for longevity and good conductivity, 40,000km life. Lanzer Neutral Newbie January 10, 2002 Share January 10, 2002 So guys am I rite to say there is no difference if u change plugs to irridium plugs with 8.8mm sports cables?
Myfocus Neutral Newbie January 10, 2002 Author Share January 10, 2002 There _may_ be a difference, but you may find that the incremental improvements are small (diminishing returns). You can try it, at worst you've just wasted money on 1 set of plugs (not that ex). Just curious, did you notice any difference with the cables? Seat of pants or quantifiable (economy, dyno etc)? Not ribbing you, just trying to collect datapoints as well. (In my case, the improvements seen were mainly by the vendors; their cashflow improved :-P ) gud luck. Spinner Neutral Newbie January 10, 2002 Share January 10, 2002 Got difference of u know u changed the plugs. You will feel more confident and poorer. Also feel engine more power. No difference if you dunno someone secretly put in the super duper plugs in replacement for the normal plugs. Difference maybe have lah... but maybe negligable. So guys am I rite to say there is no difference if u change plugs to irridium plugs with 8.8mm sports cables? ↡ Advertisement
