Any Hex600s users?

if i am not wrong there are two types of tweeters that comes with it, Get those with the silk dome tweeters and not the aluminium tweeters. MHO.

ok go you, I am using silk type and on passive. Amp output to crossover is 150W RMS. I am noob in ICe, pls pardon me if I go you more confuse

power handling should be 100 to 150 rms.

If run active. u must know the individual power for tweeter and mid.

Normally passive will cos the more power to handle due to power lost in crossover.

 

Maybe 50w for tweeter and 80 or 100w for the mid.

I am currently running active, powering my mids with a 2 channel amp with 100rms per channel and a 4 channel amp to power the tweeters and the sub. The tweeters are getting 50 rms each just like you mention By the way... I'm using the D3 amps

 

Its ok that I under power the sub, will it cos any damage?

interesting setup, I am using a 2 channel amp now but plan to get a 4 channel to drive my mid and tweetwer. You are using it the other way around. is there a reason? What I meant is why not use your 4 channel to drive your mid and tweeter while 2 channel to drive your sub? Can't be your 4 channel amp has not enought power right since you are using it to drive sub.

No special reason, I am just exploring The kind of music that I listen too are more vocal hence trying to get the mids to work harder or to its full potential. For this configuration, I do find my Sub a little weak. My 4 channel amp is only running at 50rms per channel.

well control. In fact a lot of ppls will tell you using 4ch to run tweeter+mid.

2x100wrms to power sub.

 

To me, i also will use 2x 100 to power the mid. 50w x 2 to tweeter. 50w bridge become 200w to power sub.Good idea for it. Possible to PM me who is your installer?

 

i read the D3 series. Diamond is famous in Japan and USA. The amp is under rated.No doubt for the D3.

 

Have you measure your setup with RTA ? Play active must know the character of the speakers. Somemore you are using the clarion 956. The band of EQ no so much. So when you cross your slop but be careful and the crossover point. If understand the products well and you play active with it. The sound will be better than you run passive.(depend on products)

Thanks for your reply, still a newbie and playing around with the settings. At least now I don't feel alone having this configuration cos its not the norm setup.

 

I did not measure my setup with RTA, tot it will be better to trial and

error first. Once almost satisfied then will do the RTA tuning.

 

I like the Hex600s speakers very much for its warmth and clarity but not sharp IMO

and as for the D3 amps they just drive the components beautifully hence no compliants at all. Guess they are famous for a reason

Does your power supply good enough for the amps ?stable ?

If not, just put in one cap will do.

 

Great, Trial and error is the best for you since you take audio is your hobby.

Try to increase the gain for the subwoofer.

best is you playing around the system first and then fine tune with RTA. It will be more fun.
