own insurance claim is usually a NO NO if you are clearly not at fault.. u need to fork out excess leh.. its a waste of money and time...

3rd party claim is you claim from the other party's insurance... but then the claim might take a few months, some might drag, till you [shakehead][furious] and some in the end.... [thumbsdown] say no claim what ever [furious] . In the meanwhile of settling 3rd party claims, your NCD is affected, not to mention do own insurance claim, there are usually conditions attached....

like vios, if not mistaken you need to come up with an excess of $500, assuming you are over 26 years and over 2 years experience.. else the excess is [thumbsdown] , i am like 24 (turning 25 le with 30 months of driving experience) yet my excess amounts to $1550.... [thumbsdown] If you are really a newbie, the excess is like $3k lor....

so u think do own insurance claim worth it? NO! Try looking for workshops authorised by your insurance that would help you to file 3rd party claims... but yet BM will still honour your warranty.. Check with AIG and BM, since yours is a vios..

BM won't care a [furious] of filing 3rd party claims for you, they would say never mind just claim own insurance first (coz its very simple mah, only then you realised filing 3rd party claims on urself is like [sweatdrop][rifle] of an experience)..

Not sure whether i get the facts right or not.. but filing own insurance claim when you are clearly not at fault is a NO NO!...

Quote from SHC "

I think I may have misunderstood something, but it's my impression that 3rd-third party insurance covers damages of the other party but not your own. So if an accident results in both damaged vehicles and it's the other party's fault, all you'd need to do is to claim your damages from the other driver's insurance, if you're buying 3rd-party insurance.

However, if you are the one at fault, your insurance policy will cover THE OTHER driver's damages, while you have to foot your own damages.

In other words, 3rd party insurance's loophole is that when an accident happens, it better not be your fault, else better pray that your ride suffers very little damage ('cos you gonna pay for your own car repairs yourself).

Pls do not reveal in your police report that that M6 driver is high on drugs or under influence of alcohol.

Otherwise you cannot make a claim.
