Need some feedback on whether anyone has used his DSP before? This is a proceessor meant for use with Clarion HUs with CeNet-bus control. Apparently, this retired model has got the usual (but I think much much simpler than 701) sound processing capabilities like EQ, TA, X-over etc. Reason why I'm asking is that I've got lobang for new units of this processor for a ridiculously low price. Anyone interested? I'm considering using it for myself if I can get hold of a Clarion HU... [sly][hur]

some reviews...

Summary:

Great features, all controlled from up front. Awesome quality and value. Highly recommended combination.

Strengths:

Awesome features. Great to tinker with. I hooked it up to my 8675z and had to take some serious time learn how to use it right. But about an hour later, your really gonna enjoy it. You can totally customize the sound to your cars interior right from your headunit. So much stuff to play with, I love it. Found it on E-bay brand new for about half price. Look for "anmkt" on there....he says they stock alot them, so if your interested.....

Weaknesses:

Like I said, will take a little time to familiarize yourself with it.

Summary:

Once I connected the dph to my DXZ715, it made a dramatic step-up of sound quality, very low floor noise, and the elimination of my good loop, a problem that I had since I've had install my first sound system many moons ago. Anyway,It has taken awhile to complete and understand the setting option both in pro and standard modes. Clarion customer service is at the bottom of my list. They encourage you to go to a dealer to get help, which in turn, you have to pay the deal to tune it for you. The menu setting that are offer is OK. It is not straight forward in selection or is the manual clear to help the user to achieve his/her goals. Therefore, making it difficult to operate. After a month of fussing, it sounds great. I like my unit, but I'm very upset with Clarion professional of not taking care of a valued customer needs. *My rating is based on the unit, not the customer service issues.*

Strengths:

Clarity, very low floor noise, small packaging, unit does not over heat, solid RCA connections.

Neutral Newbie

at first i see 3-band parametric EQ or 7-band graphic.

but then again if u run active, a 2-way front already makes it 6-band paraEQ liao, and a 3-way front makes it 9-band paraEQ .. so not bad huh. but if passive, then stuck with 3-band para ..

so what's the delicious price for this toy?

As long as got CeNet bus, can use liao. D1 can also right? But I'm not sure how the TA setting is done, haven't got chance to try it. The manual says it can be fine-tuned. I looking out for used Clarion HU leh...
