Snes Neutral Newbie March 18, 2007 Share March 18, 2007 ECP (Changi) at Marine Parade Exit Lane 19pm Friday 9/3/07 5 cars -------------- Chain accidents are so common in Singapore. And over half of Singaporeans (based on my observation) don't keep a distance safe enough to stop in time if something happens. And quite often, cars that stop in time are hit by the cars behind. -------------- I have driven here for about 20 years: 1) I have never been involved in a chain collision 2) I have never e-braked hard on an expressway Why? I keep my distance. And if the car in front stops suddenly I brake moderately then release brake and then brake moderately again and then the last 2 lengths I brake gently. That way, even the idiot behind me who is only keeping 3 car lengthts at 80km/h has time to stop and not hit me. Again: 1. I keep enought distance so that I will not hit the car in front 2. I add extra distance so that the car behind me won't hit me. KEEP YOUR DISTANCE, OK??? Oh man, I finally find someone who drives my style! unfortunately we are the minority, hopefully others will learn to appreciate the wisdom of this driving technique. I drive exactly as per above, you da man! ↡ Advertisement
Panalogic Neutral Newbie March 19, 2007 Share March 19, 2007 (edited) In fact sometime when i'm travelling ard 90- 110 constantly and keep a safety distance at lane 1, some cars will still tailgate me for long stretches despite relatively moderate traffic. And when i let them pass, they are still stuck behind the car in front of me... they prolly still think that they are pretty skilful and stuff but it's just the inconvenience of sending my car to the garage that controls me not to give them a surprise brake sometimes... actually when my bumper gets scratched or dented, i will try it... Gd way to get a new bumper... Thanks tailgaters... Edited March 19, 2007 by Panalogic
Panalogic Neutral Newbie March 19, 2007 Share March 19, 2007 you can rush, but you're risking a lot of things, what if you had passengers, what if you had elderly parents in the car?... then maybe you should ask yourself if it's worth paying that much for a car for your convenience in the first place... ↡ Advertisement
