Tanmeowlan Neutral Newbie March 11, 2007 Share March 11, 2007 hi there I am also struck with the decision. The SE also asked me to top up $2k. My worry is after topping up, If COE goes up again would they come back and ask you for more top up?

Jacf Neutral Newbie March 11, 2007 Share March 11, 2007 Hi all, I just book a M3SP on 22 Feb 07. However, MM failed to secure a COE for the 07 Mar bidding. Subsequently, my SE called me to top up additional 2k for the next round bidding. Should i adopt a wait and see attitude or opt for the top up? I was told thhat if top up MM will bid 13.5k if not they will just bid 10k. I wonder if this is some scare tactic adopt by tem. This left use buyer no choice but to top up if they want the car fast. What would u guys do if you are in my shoe? Kindly pls advise. Thank you I am left with 3 bid now .. hmm this depends on how urgent u need your rides & whether u feel worth it? From statistics, it seems that more than 2000 plus ppl didn't manage to bid for their COEs. So i guessed that even for the next 3 rounds, the COE bids will be quite high, more than 10k above. Hence, u might need a bit of luck if u opt not to top up. The priority will be given to those who opted for top up & those on guaranteed bids. Chances of u getting your COE is less than 50%, i would say. But if u can afford the top up, then it's up to u. One thing for definitely, car prices should not drop for some time. Ncp91 1st Gear March 11, 2007 Share March 11, 2007 Chose topping up, because 2000+ people waiting for COE, GST kicking in soon, and reduction in COE supply all combine to put a squeeze on the people getting their COE. But it depends on how urgent you are to get your car.
Ed2win2 Neutral Newbie March 11, 2007 Share March 11, 2007 For me is not to top up. $2K also money, can pump 1 yr petrol for me. Dont worry of not getting your car, they are not going to throw this deal out just because of $2K. SE also cant earn commision until the car is sold, so he still hv to push this deal before the 6 bids up. Usually, often 1st time car buyers get ask by SE to topup to test their urgency so can earn more commision. Unless u cant do without your car, then not much choice. If this is your 1st car, makes no difference of waiting 2 mths more. Not worth the $2K. 1st time car buyers often last in priority to get car, after those who trade in current car & those on guaranteed coe package. No worries, still get your car eventually. Ed2win2 Neutral Newbie March 11, 2007 Share March 11, 2007 After if u do eventually choose to top up $2K, make sure it is the guaranteed coe package, so that if COE do increase, it does not affect you, will not ask u to top up again. Why nt try asking SE u r only willing to top up at $1K, see what he says. Or ask SE to throw in more freebies because u r paying more $$$.
Route88 2nd Gear March 11, 2007 Share March 11, 2007 hi there I am also struck with the decision. The SE also asked me to top up $2k. My worry is after topping up, If COE goes up again would they come back and ask you for more top up? Nothing to do with next bidding, top up 2K is for Mar 1st bid,no such things next coe up must top up again, ask SE go fly kite

Huh? Got such thing meh ...2K top up is for already available coe they hav in hand.If to top up 2K and wait next month, might as well wait and bid for subsequent month
Ed2win2 Neutral Newbie March 11, 2007 Share March 11, 2007 Not necessary. There r some who get Open cat COE from previous biddings. Then, there r some who top up for next bidding where the dealer will bid higher. As there r many orders on hand now, dealers cant bid for everyone at high amounts so the $2K package is for priority purpose so u will get ur car earlier. Blackhawk81 Clutched March 11, 2007 Share March 11, 2007 Thanks for all input bro. I was told that if i top up 2k it will not be the guaranteed COE. That's why i am a bit hesitant to top up. Top up still not guaranteed. Maybe i should try my luck to see if i can get more freebies or throw in .
