did u drop gear? If yes, which one was selected?

G9 has good low-end torque + the usual overdrive-button.

Given with good timing and road condition, a driver can blip the throttle and AT gear will usually auto drop for fast pickup and overtakes. Plus the fact following cars usually has the advantage in determining the overtake decision.

I see... how is your HKS mushroom ? with CAI?

did it make the Vtec kick in sooner?

too bad you dont like Ninja ... look at the power gains! It's German technology some more... maybe even passed down during the Nazi ... Hitler may be the inventor... just like the beetle ...any Ninja user here??? but Ninja is from Japan correct?

my previous ride was city vtec, but it ever was eaten by VVT-i corolla G9, shame to talkblush.gif

years ago, on highway I runned at about 110km/h on extreme right lane, a corolla G9 tailgated me a while, then shifted to left lane tried to overtake me, I floored my throtle (tot Vtec kicked in aready), but the corolla G9 still could overtake me and shifted back to extreme right lane in front of mebigcry.gif

why did my vtec not workfurious.gif

I think its about momentum, the G9 burger is already at an overtake mode thus can slide pass ur city. For you....just a bit late to go on par

some people said the DOHC Vtec opens twice one at aorund 5000rpm and the other at around 7200rpm.

there are no facts to prove though.

Anyway if those ppl tat dun floor accelerator one, will DOHC vtec engine be redundant as it will not have chance to open at 7200rpm??

I see...

besides VAFC ... did u add Hondata ECU ? that should boost power somewhat?.. did u manage to do a dyno? ...wonder if from chart can tell if vetc kick in ... which brings to an idea .. u know we have shiftlamp? maybe should come up with a Vetc kick in Lamp (VKL) which will light up with a red VTEC! when it's kicked in ... nice idea huh?

7200 rpm? soon engine cut in already not only Vtec gone ... engine also gone... in other words ... if we have a vtec car at 7000 RPM vs a 2.0L Kia Sportage (142 / 6000) at higer power band .. i think vtec may loose ....

What is that EK that's being used by the driving school??? one of my friend run a red light on his test ...but yet passed (according to him) the tester say it's okay because Vtec kicked in that caused the surge ... so in the end it was said the running of the red light is caused by the vtec
