Madsumm 1st Gear March 5, 2008 Share March 5, 2008 Y don't u go get it first and post the review here? I'm thinking of my tyre change as well. Either RE001 or CSC2?
Gh05tss Neutral Newbie March 5, 2008 Author Share March 5, 2008 Cos want to know how is it else will stick to GR80.
Scaglietti Neutral Newbie March 5, 2008 Share March 5, 2008 I have previously used Bridgestone B70, GR50, GIII, B250 and now RE001. I love the direct steering feel of the RE001. The steering response is fantastic, both on dry and wet. It is also much quieter than the GIII. The aquaplaning is not as good as the GIII but better than the GR50, the predecessor of GR80. Braking is very good on dry, on wet it is good too, definitely better than Turanzas, but maybot not the best among performance tyres. Overall, I am very satisfied with the tyres and they are quite reasonably priced. I got my 195/55R15 @ $105/pc. BC
Gh05tss Neutral Newbie March 5, 2008 Author Share March 5, 2008 Ok, thanks for the feedback...how silent is it?
Madsumm 1st Gear March 5, 2008 Share March 5, 2008 RE001 is a replacement for S-03 as what I've read. I've used extensively S-03, so it will be interesting for me to compare. Now however I'm running CSC3. S-03 is amazing in dry/wet. However, its painfully noisy after some distance. CSC3 is much quieter. If its a replacement for S-03, I belief the steering response will be pretty linear then CSC3. That suits my style more.. even though now I'm getting use to S-03. If its a replacement for S-03, its worth taking a 2nd look. Maybe I will try the next change before I try the CSC2. Rgds

Scaglietti Neutral Newbie March 6, 2008 Share March 6, 2008 It is almost similar to GR50. Maybe it will get louder as it wears. BC
Gh05tss Neutral Newbie March 6, 2008 Author Share March 6, 2008 Thanks...I should getting this unless I can find GR80 for 16" at the shop that I'm going.
Kenmical Clutched March 6, 2008 Share March 6, 2008 (edited) Anyone using this model? Any feedback? Intend to get it. For a entry level tyre...what else can u evaluate? I think price and usability is decent. Edited March 6, 2008 by Kenmical
Scaglietti Neutral Newbie March 6, 2008 Share March 6, 2008 (edited) Entry level? It's not. It is their performance series, Potenza. It is suppose to replace their flagship tyre S-03. BC Edited March 6, 2008 by Scaglietti
Scaglietti Neutral Newbie March 6, 2008 Share March 6, 2008 Although I have only tried the older Turanza GR50, after trying their Potenza GIII and RE001, I will not be going back to Turanzas. I simply enjoy the control and grip, albiet more noise and faster wear. BC
Gh05tss Neutral Newbie March 6, 2008 Author Share March 6, 2008 ok...didn't know that Bridgestone Adrenalin RE001 is a entry level tyre. Is GR80 also an entry level tyre?
Gh05tss Neutral Newbie March 6, 2008 Author Share March 6, 2008 Ok....guess I only left to see if that shop have stock for which model
Kenmical Clutched March 6, 2008 Share March 6, 2008 Maybe i consider Pontenza G-III or RE010 or RE050 as more performance oriented tyres...now alot of marketing terms will have strategic link between more premium ptd range. I think RE001 is a hybrid between to old series including G-III.
Scaglietti Neutral Newbie March 6, 2008 Share March 6, 2008 GIII is more of a performance road tyre, not an outright sports/racing tyre. RE010 and RE050 are more of OEM performance tyres. Their flagship used to be S-03 Pole Position and RE-01R is thier ultimate performance tyre. They are trying to position RE-001 up their where S-03 was. RE001 is never meant to be entry level in any sense. BC
Kenmical Clutched March 6, 2008 Share March 6, 2008 So at least their marketing campaign works... Cheers
Tkseah Turbocharged March 6, 2008 Share March 6, 2008 RE001 and GR80 are not entry level. Entry level for Bridgestone would be B391. ↡ Advertisement
