May I know how many time can we re-use a claybar? Can't reuse after 1 secession?

Yes u can.. but depending on the condition of the car..if it is very bad..something you need to discard the claybar after use..

remember you can cut claybar into few pcs..

water marks edging.. depends on how bad is it. I managed to remove contamination edging with DG501+LC white+ makita RB.. Somehow i believed u think a machine to do the job. by hand with 501 oso can removed certain levels of contamination edging.. depends on how bad is it. If too deep then u need compound.

hi.. seeking some advice from bros here about clay bar... my ride's paint isn't smooth and have swirls and scratches... it's kinda rough too... issit possible that clay bar would help remove the contaminants on the paint work and give a smoother feeling? been DIYing polishing but the swirls and fine scratches are still there? maybe clay bar can help to produce a better effect?? TIA [confused]

As in all polishes, u must have applied to thick.

Have been using SRP for the pass one year. Apply thin layer, not much white residual problem.

In fact, SRP is one of the most economical polish u can find, and not forgetting it has a stronger chemical cleaning properties than most AIO in the market.

Agree! if you apply thin enuff, SRP won't give u too much residues, and u can really feel ur ride smooth smooth aft SRP! [thumbsup]

A claybar will remove embedded contaminent which normal washing cannot remove..As for swirl and scratches..you will need a machine to do a job..

Hi, I have been reading about all the replies. My office is in Tuas and the car picks up a lot of dust from the shipyards in the vicinity. The paint is really rough and even after using the clay bar twice, it still feels rough. Is it because I did not do it well? I tried to follow the intructions to use the clay bar after car wash and the body is still wet.

I read that Toyota Bodyworks does use clay bar for their polishing service. Anyone tried it? Anyone has the same issue as me?

Hi maddriver,

I used the clay bar on 2 separate washes. I noticed that the claybar gets dirty but the surface still feel rough even after I knead it into the cleaner surface after it gets dirty. But I noticed that it works better for the glass surface. maybe I am using a cheap type of claybar? I got it from autobac. I think it could also be due to the polish that I use. I can't remember off hand the brand but it's one of those german brands (i think). Cost me about $20 plus for a small bottle.
