Was just wondering wat is the difference between local iphone 3G set and export set. I was about to buy a US model iphone 3G, but was afraid that later something c--k up with the phone, i.e the phone locked, cannot on etc. any advise?

Actually there is no difference in terms of features my sister got one from the US as well. Just make sure you are buying one which is not hooked up with any phone lines like sprint, att and verizon. Those are the ones that needs to been unlocked before you can use it.

iPhones do not have international warranty. Everything else Apple makes, do.

I'm not sure about iPhone, but some phones bought from US cannot read/write Chinese. That's something you may like to check on if you want Chinese support.

 

But if you know how to flash the software (and willing to take the risk on a brand new phone) then this is not a problem.
