Are There Any Benefis of a Low Temp Thermostat?

Just asking whats the benefits of using a low temp thermostat (if there is any). Cause mine is stucked open and I need to get it replaced.

They simply open up at lower temp so ur engine will be cooler...

but engines need to be a certain temp to function at its full.

 

If u are racing everyday then do it. If not...

Perhaps if you only drive (not hypermiling) on during the hot days here, not too much issue (COE only ten years)
