Hi guys.....

Not sure what could be the problem..........my car seems to steer to the left all the time. I just did my alignment so I should think that should be ruled out.

If it's something wrong with the power steering how much should i expect to pay?

I heard of steering rack, seals etc what are they?

Thanks.

On all roads, worse still, the drift is quite pronounced.....I definitely cannot let go of the steering wheel.

The car is in the workshop now, cos I was involved in an accident at NUS [sweatdrop]

So I told them to check the rest as well.

camber, tyre pressure, tyre wear all maybe a factor. coupled with accident....more things to troubleshoot

Before..so far most of the suggestions seem to point to camber and tyre problems. Is there anyway it could be something wrong with the power steering.

Thanks for all the responses earlier [thumbsup]

No it was just a slight knock actually. The right fender has to be replaced though. In fact that's the only part which was damaged in the accident.

Oh sometimes if you scratch the rims, it could be warped causing it to swerved also. Well try to check tyre pressure is the same and maybe check the camber as well.

Hi! there, NoName,

Do you have the print-out of the last alignment done? What's the toe-in setting? Did the alignment shop do any setting during that time?

Don't think is the power steering. Least probable cause.

Power steering reduce the effort from turning the steering wheel and should not affect the alignment and control mechanism.

Hmm maybe I forgot to add something [:p] The steering wheel doesn't completely return to the centre. Paiseh I guess that should be an impt info.

"steering wheel doesn't completely return to the centre"

Hi! there, Noname,

The alignment shop didn't align your car properly, steering wheel too. At the same time, check if the tie-rod ends are bent or not.

Hi guys.....

Not sure what could be the problem..........my car seems to steer to the left all the time.

While driving is the veering to the left forceful, that mean that you got to counteract it with steering wheel control. Or was it just drifting to the left?

When you brake, does the car also veer to the left?

Steering wheel does not return to centre, probably the mech adjusted your steering wheel until it is not in the neutral position anymore. If you were to turn to the right and left from the straight (car straight)do the steering wheel have equal distances or rotations, like 2.75 turns per side.

I think u shd try another alignment shop. Anyway, what car are u driving. [sweatdrop]

Thanks all,

The mech says it's something to do with my steering mounting cos I just changed my driveshafts and it's a little tight or something to that extent.

Oh I'm driving a B13, poor kid who's still in his second year of U [:p] And I have been driving for less than a year so my mum was afraid of getting a new car.....I guess her judgement was right.

By the way how much does it cost for me to replace my rear drums?
