IMO, although it is stated that a quick detailing spray can be used on a slightly dusted car, this route should be used sparingly cos you have to be real careful how much pressure you put on your MF cloth. Too much pressure and you are going to drag the dirt across the car panel. No doubt about it, Autoglym products are excellent and I have been using them for a good number of years b4 switching to the more user friendly WOWO products; washing and sealant protection in 2 hrs flat. Staining of the rubber and plastic trimmings was another reason for the change.

Yes, alwayz be careful as you might 'drag' the dirt and cause scratches to the surface. At least try to practice dusting off the dust prior QD using a feather duster, it might reduce and prevent damage to ur car. [thumbsup]

the normal feather duster will do fine?

I am thinking of washing the car with just a mitten and plain water without any shampoo. Is that ideal?

It all depends on your own judgement.. of coz if your ride is all covered by loose contaminents it will still require shampoo for wash. If only lightly dusty then juz using water will do [;)]
