i was there with my bro around 3pm.... hang around for about 45 min before going home.... Race Queens? boh lah,... and the racing (basically sprints plus abit of figure-racing) was so so.... can't expect much in racing in a carpark (bloody garmen: never spare some un-used land for a proper track, not even on a temporary baisc [rifle][furious] ......

so much reclaimed land left idling for decades and growing wild grass and yet not even a make-shift off road course [mad][:/][:|][sly][crazy] .... so paranoi.....

..... ok, yeepee, montoya still holding his lead in the 1st lap of Monza F1 GranPrix... live on cables now...

(bloody garmen: never spare some un-used land for a proper track, not even on a temporary baisc)

_________________________________________________________________

said before already ma. If one day they need the land and take it away then how much more are we gonna complain? Plus with the current policy on not supporting mods, how is building a race track gonna deter people from modding?

The problems are not just one solution but are all interrelated. no win situation for us in the end. [bigcry]

anyways I never really wanted to get into super sprints cos my passion is still road racing not drag racing

hoho.... drag is kinda a thing I would do on the side.... but the optimal car configuration are different for both making it tough to do them both....

give me road racing any day [:)][:)]

on garmen not giving land for motor sport: if they did, at least we can enjoy it while it lasts.... any way, your points are pretty valid, but my protest will still continue [laugh][laugh]

aiya might as well go PG to race.

Can you imagine how much they would charge to maintain a track over here? Not to mention the cost it would be to use it for an hour.

and if they give you something then take it away, you more upset or not? Chances are you will be more upset cos you had something then lost it.

U know what?? if garmen allows racing track to be built.... then once the racing starts.... and all it need is one fatal accident.... then police would come it... and says... sorry.. this is a dangerous sports... so the place is forced to close down... that's it man!! [thumbsdown]

there are ways around that.... like having people take courses to be certified as race capable drivers.... so you need a lience to race.... and you need to drive cars that are pre approved to raced with safety features such as roll cage, air bags, 5 point harness seat belt, etc.... but then again how can afford that and how many are willing to do that when you can easily go to malaysia and save your self alot more money to do the same thing? [sweatdrop]

plus if we have land shortage what is going to happen? complicated [crazy]

Very, very good point, G. Just goes to show how really serious they are in opening up. Remember that accident at the bike park behind Orchard Rd and how they conveniently closed the park for investigation at the expense of the event that was going on ? [:p]

If anything, so long as we're unable to accept that accidents can never be completely anticipated (or eliminated) and participants take part in such things with the full knowledge of the dangers, we'll never truly be 'open'.... [shakehead]

Can you imagine establishments like the FIA behaving in an equally close-minded manner ?....hmmm....then again, Senna would probably still be alive and Lauda wouldn't have gotten burnt.....[gossip]

you must also remember singapore is a very tiny country.... but yet we have a GDP that is more than what half of the countrys in the world have (including several european coutnrys)..... and owe alot of it our resource.... the people.... opening up is a good thing.... but the garment also wants to protect the interest of its resources (us namely).... but I think there is also the insecurity of opening up too much.... they don't want things to get out of control which is a good thing.... sometimes I think we don't give the athorities the kudos they deserve cos they are still looking out for our best interest (even though we don't think so).... it is just like when we were kids our mothers used to tell us certain things for our best interest but we don't understand what she means till we grow up or make mistakes.... anyways that is my 2 cents....
