Hey Mike,

 

I think it looks like the set I saw this morning. One for throttle, one for brake & one for the clutch. The rubber studs you will need to put in one by one.

 

Maybe times are bad, that's why.

 

 

Thanks for the offer to lend me the drill. Let me check out my pedal first. Still pondering on how to remove the rubber pads.

I just yank out the rubber pads on my babe. You can try that but first feel for screws!

These "race pedal" are usually added for additional grip to the foot (depending on your footwear ) and they look damn nice!

Seriously the rubber studs offers superior grip but I'm not too sure about those models without studs. Very confident feeling with no slippage. At the end of the day, under normal driving circumstances, the major factor is that it looks chio!

where can i find them and at what cost? Any complementary foot rest to go with the 3 piece set?

I think Sparetyre got a quote of $45 from Miki Marketing. A year ago I was quoted $76 so I bought it from another place at $56! Hmmmm.......time must really be bad!

 

No, it doesn't come with a foot rest. I don't know whether there a complementary one or not.

 

Just to remind you that this Sparco set is to be drilled in, not clamped on.

Hi Mike,

 

Just removed the rubber pads and checked out the pedals.

 

The metal plate for the brake pedal should be big enough to drill the holes to mount the Sparco brake & clutch plates.

 

But there is a problem with the throttle pedal. Took a closer look at your picture and noticed that the metal rod joins the throttle pedal at an angle. Is that why you can drill the 2 holes to mount the Sparco plate?

 

For my case, the metal rod joins the plate from the top. As such, I might drill thru the rod!!!!

 

Any advise for me? Maybe you can take a look this Friday.

Duh.......actually my throttle pedal is a somewhat hard piece of plastic hooked onto the metal tube. I drilled thru the plastic to anchor the Sparco pedal.

 

Can't offer any advice until I have a look at your car. Please bring along a small vanity mirror so that we can have a look at what's behind your throttle without a neck sprain!

I use RAZO Pedals.. it comes with 2 opions - screw or clamp.

 

Maybe you would like to take a look at RAZO's ones first cost from S$60 to S$100

Yeah, there are a lot of RAZOs at Autobacs. I prefer screwed in as somehow, I feel they are more secure. Thanks!

I think I'm a bit paranoid but I've used clamps in my ex-car before and after a while there was creaking sound from the brake pedal and true enough, the clamp had loosened a bit! Happened to the throttle pedal too! Just make sure you check them whenever you hear any sound from there!

Yah..must do it very hard, First fitted and the thtottle pedal loosen-out when I was in Ubi rd, dun know what to do....hahahahaha

I'm using the clamp on RAZO pedals and I had to do a little modification of the clamping bar to suit my pedals so they will secure firmly. Still have to tighten once a blue moon, just to play safe

Or just the acc and brake?
