Conservative Neutral Newbie September 28, 2004 Share September 28, 2004 Yes thanks youre right, its the silent button, not the disarm. This morning 6 am the alarm sounded 3 times when school buses rolled past. Very shocking. I tried the sensitivity today like you taught, it was already at minimum sensitivity. How to make it more insensitive ? Today I'll try disabling the external and enable the internal, think maybe the external one is the sensitive problem. If still sensitive i'll try the other way around. ie disable internal and enable external. I can enable the sensors anytime I want right ? ie. after disabling the sensors i can leave it. However if I want to enable them again a few days later, I just have to double click the relevant buttons and they will be re-anabled ? I think it works that way... ↡ Advertisement
Dcool Neutral Newbie September 28, 2004 Share September 28, 2004 (edited) Hi morning, You mean after you set the level to the minimum, it still goes off when the buses drives by ? You sure abt it ? haha.. i think your car can be name SNAC (sensitive new age car )!! Yes, try to disable the external sensor and enable the internal sensor for the time being. And yes, you can enable it later anytime you want, just double click the button again it will be active again. Let me know if you still have problems. Conservative Neutral Newbie September 28, 2004 Share September 28, 2004 yes sure, I actually printed your list with the various sounds, and took it to empty carpark to try it, holding the paper. Lucky no police around to ask questions why I was hangin around a car with alarm going off. It was like you said, one whoop and 3 chirps. Not sure why car so sensitive when teh owner is not... If you know anyway of muting the alarm at nights to make it silent alarm, let me know, maybe a switch can be installed to bypass the siren ? Will let you know, good that youre online 24 hrs a day, apparently.
Dcool Neutral Newbie September 28, 2004 Share September 28, 2004 For your case, you mentioned that even after you have by passed the external sensor the alarm still goes off ? Hmm.. then i suggest you ACTIVATE your external sensor and by-pass you internal sensor and see if the situation improves. And also set the sensitive level to level 3 for the time being and monitor. As for offing the siren, i dun think its possible, however you can use the valet parking fuction, so in order words, the alarm will not go off the lock and unlock fuction will still be working. And you can activate the alarm to be back to normal if you park at another less noisy place.

Dcool Neutral Newbie October 1, 2004 Share October 1, 2004 I guess, the situation is unqiue to you bc of the harley and the heavy vehicles in your area. So paiseh, couldnt help you solve the problem even after doing the setting for you. let me know what YSH says and what he recommends for your situation. I believe he might want to relocate your external sensor to a less sensitive or more rigid location in the car. Well.. at least you know the next time someone touches your car, the alarm goes off. Conservative Neutral Newbie October 1, 2004 Share October 1, 2004 hey thanks a lot for taking the trouble to see the car. Will keep you updated, if alarm keep going off will be very lack of sleep and make many enemies...
Dcool Neutral Newbie October 1, 2004 Share October 1, 2004 (edited) Another last resort will be to disconnect the external sensor from the controller box. And see of that is the cause of the problem. It should be a relatively easy thing to do, just unplug the sensor plug from the box. If you not sure, ask the installer to do for you. I think it rather unfortunate to stay in area with a harley and heavy vehicles moving around, is there no way to park somewhere else ? I feel your frustration my frd.
